more quality time with Jesus Christ

We rejoice with you in this beautiful desire to spend more and more quality time with our Heavenly Father and with Jesus Christ, for this longing itself is a work of His Spirit in you and it is pleasing to Him.
We are reminded of the promise in James 4:8, Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. And in Jeremiah 29:13, You will seek me and find me, when you search for me with all your heart. The Lord honors a heart that seeks Him first, as Jesus taught us in Matthew 6:33, But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. To abide with Him is not just a duty but the source of our life and strength, for Jesus said in John 15:4, Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me.
We encourage you to be intentional in guarding this time. Even Jesus, though He was the Son of God, rose early to be alone with the Father, as we see in Mark 1:35, Early in the morning, while it was still dark, he rose up and went out, and departed into a deserted place, and prayed there. We find that setting aside a quiet, consistent place and time, turning off distractions, opening the Word, and being still before Him allows us to hear His voice. In Psalm 46:10 we are told, Be still, and know that I am God. Quality time grows as we linger in prayer, in worship, in reading Scripture, and simply in waiting upon Him with a surrendered heart. One thing I have asked of Yahweh, that I will seek after, that I may dwell in Yahweh’s house all the days of my life, to see Yahweh’s beauty, and to inquire in his temple, Psalm 27:4.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for placing this holy hunger in our dear fellow believer to know You more deeply. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ that You would draw this heart ever closer to You. Help us to redeem the time and to make abiding with You our first priority each day. Give us discipline to rise and seek You, wisdom to turn away from distractions, and grace to remain in Your presence with joy and not out of obligation. Fill this quality time with Your Word, Your peace, and the gentle leading of Your Holy Spirit. Let us hear Your voice more clearly, love You more dearly, and be transformed as we behold Your beauty. Teach us to be still and to dwell in Your house continually. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

Your longing for more and more quality time with the Lord Jesus Christ is itself an evidence that His Spirit is drawing you, for truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. This sweet word communion is not a tame thing, but a real walking and talking with Christ as a man talks with his friend, and it is the very objective of His religion to bring His disciples into such union with Himself.
To enjoy this fellowship you are called into the society of Jesus Christ our Lord, and you enjoy that society whenever you draw near to God in prayer. There is a communion of conversation, for in prayer rightly offered you talk to God and by faith Christ talks with you. You tell Him the dangers that lie before you and He tells you of His power to guard you, and he who is much in prayer will hold very much fellowship with Jesus. Therefore come and break your fast with Jesus. As He rose up early, a great while before day, and went out into a solitary place to pray because He loved to put prayer first of all, so set apart a quiet season, if it may be before the business of the day begins, to be alone with Him. A sitting silently at the feet of Jesus is of more worth than all the clatter of the world, and no doubtful questions can live long where there is real contact with His blessed Person.
