more quality time with Jesus Christ

We rejoice with you in this beautiful desire to spend more and more quality time with our Lord Jesus Christ, for this is the very heart of our faith and the source of all spiritual life and joy.

We hear your longing to draw closer to the Heavenly Father and we join with you in seeking His help to make this a daily reality. The Scripture encourages us in this pursuit when it says, Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. James 4:8 and also, When you said, Seek my face, my heart said to you, I will seek your face, Yahweh. Psalm 27:8. Your hunger for Him is itself a gift from Him, and He delights to answer it.

We want to encourage you that quality time with Him is not about striving or perfection, but about abiding. Jesus said, Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me. John 15:4. This remaining happens as we intentionally set apart time to be still before Him, to listen as well as to speak. As it is written, Be still, and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10. We encourage you to seek first His Kingdom each day, even if it begins with just a few uninterrupted minutes in the morning, opening His Word, praying, and waiting quietly for His voice. He promises, You will seek me and find me, when you search for me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13 and But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne of grace in the precious name of Jesus Christ, thanking You for the heart You have given our dear one who desires to spend more quality time with You. We ask that You would stir this holy hunger even more and help us all to redeem the time for what matters most. Grant grace to set aside distractions, to quiet our hearts, and to prioritize fellowship with You above all else. Teach us to love Your Word, to delight in prayer, and to walk in constant communion with Your Holy Spirit throughout each day. Draw us closer, Lord, that we may know You more deeply, love You more dearly, and follow You more faithfully. Fill this time together with Your presence, Your peace, and Your transforming power, and let it bear much fruit for Your glory. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We are so encouraged by your desire to spend more quality time with Jesus. That hunger to be with Him is a good and beautiful thing, and we thank God for stirring it in you.

We know life gets busy and that desire can feel hard to live out consistently. It often helps not to aim for a perfect hour right away, but for a faithful, realistic rhythm you can actually keep. One simple next step many find helpful is to choose one set time and place for the next week, even just fifteen minutes in the morning or evening, with your Bible nearby and distractions set aside. Begin simply by talking with the Lord, then linger in His Word without rushing, and close by being still before Him. If you miss a day, just return the next day without guilt. Small, steady time together often deepens into more natural, longer time over weeks.

We are praying with you for that growing closeness.

Father, we lift our friend to You and thank You for drawing them closer. Help them find and protect quiet time with You, and make those moments sweet and unhurried. Draw near as they seek You, quiet their heart, and help them hear Your voice and enjoy Your presence more each day. Lead them by Your Spirit and keep them close to Jesus. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

There is a holy wisdom in this desire which you have expressed, and it is itself a token of grace that you long to spend more and more quality time with the Lord Jesus Christ. The Saviour Himself says, Come and break your fast, and His words are never without the deepest meaning. He is thoughtful of our wants and He spreads a table for His people, bread with a relish of fish, the old food with which He always fed His own, pleasant and easy to digest. He does not like to see His servants cold and hungry and weary with a night of fruitless toil, and therefore He calls you to a feast with Himself. Many a battle has been lost because the soldiers were not in good condition for the fight, and you need stamina if you are to do hard and long work for Jesus and His truth.

I fear that the most of us are so little in retirement, so seldom in communion with God in private and even when there, the communion is for so short a time, that we remain but tiny dwarfs and can never attain to the stature of a perfect man in Christ Jesus. But what holy affections, what blessed excitements those have who are much alone with Christ. Such a man never has a cold heart or a slack hand who is much in meditation with his Lord Jesus. If your memory is weak or your days are crowded, the more reason why you should be a longer time and more often with your God in secret.

Seek then real contact with Jesus, not merely an outward and mechanical religion, but an inward touching of His blessed person, a stream of life and love flowing from Him to you. Deep waters are still, and the nearest fellowship with Christ is often the quietest. Come to Him as you did at the first, as a sinner needing His atonement, and come again each day. Prove Him with your hard questions and your everyday burdens, for there is no burden that you cannot take to Him, and no question that He cannot answer. He who said Follow Me still says Come and see, and the best part of any day is the portion which is spent with Jesus.

Let us pray together that the Heavenly Father will grant your request in the name of Jesus Christ. O Lord our God, draw this soul into more constant and more intimate communion with Thy Son. Give a hunger for Thy Word and a love for secret prayer, and keep the heart from preferring business or amusement to the Lord Jesus. Cause this dear one to sit often at Thy table and to be nourished and strengthened there, to muse quietly upon Thy love, to find Jesus and to abide with Him that day and every day till that brighter day when we shall be immortal and glorified with the glory which Christ had with His Father before the world was. Grant it, Father, for Jesus sake alone, in whose name we ask it. Amen.

Your desire to spend more and more quality time with Jesus Christ is a good and holy desire, and God Himself puts such hunger in the heart so that He may satisfy it. I join you in prayer to the Heavenly Father in the Name of Jesus Christ.

I pray that the Father will help you to set apart quiet and undistracted time for Him each day, to come to Him with an open Bible, with honest prayer and with a still heart that listens for His voice. May He teach you to turn away from noise and hurry for a little while, so that in tranquility your soul may breathe and be renewed. May He deck your inner life with prayer, with supplication and with watchfulness, so that Christ may dwell richly there.

Ask Him to help you not only to find minutes in the day, but to walk with Him through the whole day, remembering Him in your work and rest, speaking to Him often and learning to love His presence more than any other comfort. As you seek Him faithfully, He promises that those who seek will find, and those who draw near to Him will find Him drawing near to them.

May the grace and love of our Lord Jesus Christ keep you, strengthen your discipline and deepen your joy in fellowship with Him, until your time with Him becomes the most treasured part of your life. Amen.
