We rejoice with you in this beautiful and holy desire to spend more and more quality time with our Lord Jesus Christ, for this is the very heart of our faith and the greatest need of our souls. Your hunger for Him is itself evidence of His Spirit working in you, drawing you closer to the Father.
We are reminded of what Scripture says about this longing. Psalm 27:4 says, One thing I have asked of Yahweh, that I will seek after: that I may dwell in Yahweh's house all the days of my life, to see Yahweh's beauty, and to inquire in his temple. And James 4:8 gives us a precious promise, Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Our Heavenly Father delights when His children seek Him, not out of duty alone but out of love. Jesus Himself said in John 15:4, Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can't bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me. Quality time with Him is not wasted time, it is the vine life that produces all fruit, peace, strength and joy.
We also hear the call to stillness and priority in His Word. Psalm 46:10 says, Be still, and know that I am God. And Matthew 6:33 teaches us, But seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Hebrews 11:6 reminds us that he is a rewarder of those who seek him. When we set Him first, He honors that seeking.
We join our faith with yours and pray together in the name of Jesus Christ.
Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. We thank You for this dear one's desire to know You more and to dwell more deeply with You. Father, we ask that You help them to spend more and more quality time with You, to hunger for Your presence above all else. Draw them by Your Holy Spirit into the secret place, give them discipline and delight to set apart time each day to be with You, undistracted and unhurried. Open Your Word to them, speak to them as they pray, let them hear Your voice and feel Your nearness. Help them to be still before You, to worship, to listen, and to abide in Christ the true vine. Guard that time from the busyness and distractions of this world, and let their love for Jesus grow stronger each day. Fill them with Your peace and transform them as they behold Your beauty. We ask this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
We encourage you to continue to make this a daily priority, to choose a consistent time and quiet place to meet with Him, to bring your Bible, to pray honestly, and to simply be still before Him. Even a few minutes of sincere, focused fellowship is precious to Him, and as you are faithful in little, He will enlarge your desire and your time. Keep seeking, keep knocking, and He will surely draw near.
