more quality time with Jesus Christ

We rejoice in your desire to draw nearer to the Lord Jesus Christ, for He alone is the source of true life, peace, and wisdom. Your heart’s cry to spend more quality time with Him is precious in His sight, and we stand with you in this holy pursuit. The Scriptures remind us, "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you" (James 4:8 WEB). This is not merely a suggestion but a divine invitation, one that transforms our souls, renews our minds, and aligns our will with the Father’s.

Yet we must also examine our hearts with honesty before the Lord. Quality time with Christ is not measured by the length of our prayers or the number of chapters we read, but by the sincerity of our devotion and the willingness to surrender every part of our lives to Him. Are there distractions, busyness, entertainment, or even good things, that have subtly taken priority over time with the Savior? The Lord warns us, "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also" (Matthew 6:21 WEB). Let us ask Him to reveal any idols in our lives that compete for His rightful place.

We also encourage you to approach this time with intentionality. Set aside a specific time each day to meet with the Lord, whether in the morning, during a lunch break, or in the quiet of the evening. Bring your Bible, a journal to record His faithfulness, and a heart ready to listen. Remember, "Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path" (Psalm 119:105 WEB). The Word of God is alive and active, and as we meditate on it, the Holy Spirit will speak to us, convict us, and comfort us.

Let us also not forget the power of worship and thanksgiving. The psalmist declares, "Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, and bless his name" (Psalm 100:4 WEB). When we come before the Lord with gratitude, our hearts are softened, and our spirits are lifted. Worship shifts our focus from our circumstances to His majesty, and in that place, we find rest and renewal.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and grateful hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who longs to spend more quality time with You. Lord Jesus, You are the Good Shepherd who calls us by name and leads us beside still waters. We ask that You would create in them a deep hunger and thirst for Your presence. Remove every distraction, every lie of the enemy that says there isn’t enough time, and every excuse that keeps them from drawing near to You.

Father, teach them how to abide in You, for You have said, "I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing" (John 15:5 WEB). May they experience the joy of Your presence, the peace that surpasses all understanding, and the strength that comes from being rooted in You.

Lord, we also ask that You would help them to prioritize time with You above all else. Give them wisdom to organize their days in a way that honors You, and grant them the discipline to follow through. When they are weak, remind them that Your grace is sufficient, and Your power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9 WEB).

Holy Spirit, fill them afresh. Open their eyes to see the beauty of Christ, their ears to hear His voice, and their hearts to receive His love. May their time with You not be a duty but a delight, a sacred appointment they would never dream of missing.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

Beloved, know that as you seek the Lord with all your heart, He will not hide Himself from you. "You will seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart" (Jeremiah 29:13 WEB). The journey of deepening your relationship with Christ is one of the most rewarding pursuits in life. It is not always easy, but it is always worth it. Press on, dear one, and watch as the Lord transforms you from glory to glory into His image. We are praying for you, and we believe that the Lord is already at work in your life, drawing you closer to Himself.

We're so encouraged by your desire for more quality time with Jesus. That hunger itself is a gift, and we want to stand with you in it.

One insight we often share is that growing closer to Him is more like training than trying. No one runs a marathon by deciding to try really hard one morning. It comes through small, regular steps over time, and the Lord gently shapes us as works in progress as we keep showing up.

If it would help, a simple next step many find sustainable is to protect one small, consistent window rather than aiming for something big and irregular. Perhaps ten or fifteen minutes at the same time and place each day, with Scripture open and space to pray honestly about what you read. Keeping it modest and steady often allows it to deepen naturally, and doing it alongside one other believer or a small group can add encouragement and accountability.

We are praying for you in this.

Father, thank You for placing this desire in our friend's heart. Draw them closer as they seek You, give them grace for steady time with You, and let them know Your nearness day by day. Make their time with Jesus unhurried and real. In Jesus' name, amen.

It is a blessed and holy desire which the Lord Himself has put into your heart, and I thank God for it. To want more quality time with Jesus Christ is to want that which is best of all. Our Lord Jesus says to you as He said to His disciples by the sea, Come and break your fast. He is thoughtful of your wants and He spreads a table for you, not with poor fare, but with the bread of life itself. Many a battle has been lost because the soldiers were not in good condition for the fight, and you need stamina if you are to do hard and long work for Jesus and His truth. Therefore see the importance of a feast with Jesus. It is not a thing to be put off till tomorrow, but to be sought at once.

Take care that your religion does not become mechanical. There are many who come near to Jesus outwardly, yet there is no inward touching of His blessed person, no stream of life and love flowing from Him to them. What you desire is real contact with Jesus, such as that woman had who touched the hem of His garment and felt virtue go out of Him. Deep waters are still, and the nearest fellowship is often the quietest. Do not be satisfied with merely hearing about Him. Come to Jesus Christ as you did the first time, as a sinner needing His grace, and your doubts shall flee away. And prove Him with your hard questions. Have you felt that you could go to Him with everyday burdens, but not with that special load. Why not also take that to Him. Come to Him with your hard doubts, come with your hard cares, and He will not cast you out. He still says, Come and see, and the best part of any day is the portion which you spend with Him.

Let this be your daily practice, for He daily loadeth us with benefits. He does not load us once and then leave us, but every day, on bright days and on dark days, His mercy is new. Acquaint yourself with God through His Holy Book, and let every day be blessed with praise. Hold this world with a loose hand, that you may have the more heart and time for Christ. Just come with nothing of your own, no good feelings and no good works, and rest at the cross, and then sit at His feet to hear His word.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, we bless Your name for putting this longing in Your child to know more of Christ. Grant, we pray, more and more quality time with Jesus, not as a duty only, but as a feast of love. Draw this dear soul to break fast with Jesus daily, to touch Him by living faith, and to consult with Him in all things. By Your Holy Spirit, make the Word sweet, make prayer fervent, and make the hours spent with Your Son to be times of refreshing and strength. Keep this one abiding in Christ, and Christ abiding in them, that they may live with Jesus and one day reign with Him. We ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our life and our all. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your desire to spend more and more quality time with the Lord Jesus Christ is itself a good gift from God, and it is right to pray that the Father will increase it.

This holy desire is kept alive not by waiting for leisure to come, but by giving yourself wholly to those things which bring you near to Christ. Deck the house of your soul and your daily life with prayer, with reading of Scripture, with supplications and with watchfulness. When you give your time to these things, you both wash away what is past and gain great profit for what is to come, and you block the way of the enemy who seeks to lead us astray through idleness and distraction. Therefore decide on a fixed time each day to be with the Lord, keep it faithfully, be sober and watchful, and let that time be guarded from other claims. Even a short time spent faithfully each day, continued with perseverance, will in time bear eternal fruit by the grace of our Lord.

Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, we thank You that You have drawn this heart to desire more fellowship with You. Help Your child to seek You with all diligence, to love Your Word, to persevere in prayer, and to walk closely with You. Grant wisdom to order the day, strength to set aside time for You, and joy in Your presence. Keep this life from sloth and distraction, and make it fruitful in knowing Christ more deeply. We ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, to whom with You and the Holy Spirit be glory forever. Amen.

Your desire to spend more and more quality time with the Lord is a good and precious desire, and it is one that He Himself puts in the heart and delights to answer.

Jesus showed us the necessity and the pattern for this kind of time. Even with all the demands of His ministry, with crowds coming to be taught and healed, He rose very early while it was still dark and went to a solitary place to pray and commune with the Father. He did not treat time with the Father as something to fit in if there was leisure, but as essential. Following His example means intentionally setting apart quiet, undistracted time to be with Him.

To believe in Jesus is to enter a vital, life changing relationship with Him, not just to hold ideas about Him. That relationship grows as we abide in Him. As He taught His disciples, we are to remain in Him as branches remain in the vine, drawing life from Him. That abiding happens as we spend time in His Word, learning of Him, receiving from Him, and growing in Him, and as we turn away from fleshly distractions that crowd Him out. Less time given to television and other empty distractions and more time given to the Word and to prayer allows that quality of life that is in Jesus to become our own. It is not only about length of days, but about the kind of life we have in Him now, a life that shares His joy and that will continue forever. He has promised to be with His people always, even to the end of the age, and where we seek Him He is present to meet us. Through the Holy Spirit we can walk with Him in sweet and blessed communion each day.

Let us pray together for you.

Heavenly Father, in the Name of Jesus Christ I ask that You draw this dear one into deeper fellowship with You. Give a hunger for Your Word and a love for quiet prayer. Help to make time apart with You, to seek You with a whole heart, and to abide in Christ daily. Fill this time together with Your presence, teach more of Jesus, and let His joy and life be formed more fully. Lead by Your Holy Spirit into that close communion that transforms and sustains, and let this quality time with You become the greatest joy of each day. Amen.
