We hear the deep pain and anger in your words, and we understand the hurt that comes from being wounded by someone who caused so much harm. The Bible is clear about the reality of hell—a place of eternal separation from God, where there is indeed weeping and gnashing of teeth (Matthew 25:41, Mark 9:43-48). It is a sobering truth that those who reject God’s grace and persist in unrepentant sin face this fate.
However, we must also remember that God’s heart is one of justice *and* mercy. While we can trust that He will judge righteously (Hebrews 10:30), Scripture also calls us to a posture of humility and even love for our enemies. Jesus Himself taught, *"But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you"* (Matthew 5:44). This does not mean we excuse evil—God’s Word never does—but it does mean we surrender our desire for vengeance to Him, trusting that He will repay (Romans 12:19).
We also want to gently address the tone of celebration in your words. While it is natural to feel relief that someone who caused harm can no longer do so, rejoicing in another’s eternal suffering is not aligned with God’s heart. Proverbs 24:17 warns, *"Don’t rejoice when your enemy falls. Don’t let your heart be glad when he is overthrown."* Instead, we can pray for our own healing and for God to soften our hearts toward His truth, even in grief and anger.

Soften our hearts, Lord, and fill us with Your love, even for those who have hurt us. We also pray for the salvation of all who do not know You, that they would turn to Jesus before it is too late. Psalm 34:18 reminds us, *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* You are not alone in this.
