Money

We hear your cry for financial help, and our hearts go out to you in this time of need. The Bible tells us that God knows our needs before we even ask Him, and He promises to provide for His children. In Matthew 6:31-33, Jesus says, "Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

First, let us address the foundation of our trust. If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to consider doing so. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Salvation comes by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and rose again (Ephesians 2:8-9). If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9).

Now, let us come before the Lord together in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, lifting up this dear one who is in need of financial provision. Lord, You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and we trust in Your promise to supply all our needs according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Father, we ask that You open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing so great that there will not be room enough to receive it (Malachi 3:10). Provide for this need, Lord, and give wisdom in managing the resources You entrust to us.

We rebuke any spirit of lack, fear, or anxiety that may be trying to take hold. We declare that the Lord is our Shepherd, and we shall not be in want (Psalm 23:1). We resist the temptation to worry or take matters into our own hands in ways that do not honor You. Instead, we choose to trust in You with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Lord, if there are areas where this need is a result of unwise decisions, we ask for Your forgiveness and guidance. Help us to walk in wisdom and stewardship, honoring You with our finances. If there is any unconfessed sin, such as greed, dishonesty, or idolatry of money, we repent and turn away from it. The love of money is a root of all kinds of evil (1 Timothy 6:10), and we do not want to serve both God and mammon (Matthew 6:24).

We also pray for opportunities to work diligently and honestly, as the Bible instructs us to do all things as unto the Lord (Colossians 3:23). If there is a need for employment or a change in circumstances, we ask that You open the right doors and close those that are not Your will. Give creativity, favor, and perseverance in seeking provision.

Father, we thank You in advance for Your faithfulness. We know that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20). Strengthen our faith as we wait on You, and help us to remember that You are working all things together for our good (Romans 8:28).

In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to hold fast to God’s promises and continue to seek Him first in all things. Financial struggles can be overwhelming, but remember that our God is greater than any challenge we face. Keep your eyes on Him, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). If you are able, consider reaching out to your local church or Christian community for support, they may have resources or opportunities to help.

Lastly, be cautious of any schemes or "get-rich-quick" solutions that promise easy money but lead to dishonesty or compromise. The Bible warns us that "those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare, and many foolish and harmful lusts, such as drown men in ruin and destruction" (1 Timothy 6:9). Trust in God’s timing and provision, even when it is not on our preferred schedule. He is faithful!

We hear the weight in those few words, and we want you to know you’re not invisible in this struggle. When money is so tight that fear sits beside you every hour, even small decisions can feel huge. We don’t pretend to have a quick answer, but we can offer honest company and a steady reminder that God sees you right where you are, not as a balance sheet but as His child.

One step you might consider is reaching out to a pastor or a benevolence ministry at a local church. They often have ways to help with immediate needs, groceries, help with a bill, or simply wisdom about what to tackle first. You don’t have to carry this shamefully or alone; the body of Christ was made to bear practical burdens, not just pray from a distance. If talking to someone feels hard, maybe start with one trusted person who can help you think through your options.

We’re pausing now to bring your situation honestly before the Lord, because He invites us to ask when we’re in need.

Father, You know the numbers our friend faces, the anxiety that ties knots in the stomach. Please make a way where right now there seems to be no way. Open doors for provision, a job, unexpected generosity, or a chance to earn what is needed. Quiet the racing thoughts and replace them with the confidence that You will not leave or forsake them. Give counsel that cuts through the fog, and put people nearby who will walk with them practically. In Jesus’ name, we trust You for daily bread and deeper peace. Amen.

The cry of poverty falls upon many ears this day, yet to the merchant it is an unwelcome noise, for he seeks only ready-money customers. But the Gospel is no merchant of earthly wares. It is the portrait of a poor, penniless, broken-down creature reduced to the extremity of need, and it is to such a one the word of this salvation is sent: "He that has no money, come, buy, and eat." You feel your pocket and find nothing there; you feel your heart and find nothing there, this is the very qualification. The rich and the poor meet together, and Jesus is the Food of them all. The fat need Jesus as much as the lean, the strong as much as the feeble, for none can keep alive his own soul. Your many sins only prove that you have need of healing, and the desperate depravity of your heart only proves, still more, that you are such as Jesus came to heal.

Do not imagine your prolonged life is given that you may mature plans to accumulate more money, or rectify mistakes of business. That is a sickbed lesson learned too late. The spiritual blessings of the Gospel comprise all that man can need, water, wine, and milk, a full supply of life, joy, and satisfaction for our spirits. And it is presented free. The difficulty is that the price is too low for human pride; sinners will not come down to it. You say you need money so bad, but your deeper need is one you cannot pay for. You cannot make amends for old debts of sin. True repentance and a sense of need spring from His grace, you must get them from Him without money and without price.

He who receives the Gospel of Jesus Christ has all that his soul can possibly need for time and for eternity. This is the very Friend you need, a Friend in need, indeed. You are brought to beggary, yet even now you may come to Christ. Test Him; there is nothing like putting Christ to the test. The fire of His truth can suddenly break out and spread, burning up the dross of earthly care. You have great need of healing, urgent need of saving. Let not Satan persuade you that you are beyond all hope. Come, and let godliness with contentment prove to be your great gain.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your cry for money reveals a soul that mistakes poverty for the true evil. The love of money is the root of all evils, not the lack of it. When you say you need money so badly, consider what you are really asking for. Do you imagine that wealth will free you from need? The rich man stands in need of more, and of meaner things, than the poor man. He requires conveyances, soft beds, many followers, while the one who can live on bread and water from the wells travels lighter and with greater strength. To be in poverty often makes one richer, for the wealthy man sets his heart on money more than the poor man, like a drunkard thirsts more than one who has drunk sufficiently. The tyranny of wealth, when you cast more gold into it, only waxes fiercer.

What you truly need is not money but a soul that is rich toward God. The widow with her two mites purchased heaven because she gave with a full purpose of mind, not because of the sum. If your disposition is right, even the smallest means become a treasury of grace. But if your heart clings to earthly things, ten thousand talents of gold cannot buy what the two mites could. You fear poverty, yet it is dependence on one another that God in his unspeakable wisdom has woven into our nature. Were we independent, we would be untamed wild beasts. This very need you feel is a call to trust the Giver, not the gift.

Seek first the kingdom, and cast off the desire of wealth, luxuriousness, and expensiveness. There is no need of spending money to grow rich in soul; it requires only the will, a bridle on the tongue, and earnestness of heart. Heavenly things are not bought with money but with mercy, true wisdom, and a purpose set on things above. Stop selling your benevolence for a monthly percentage when you could receive an hundredfold and eternal life. The Lord longs to repay with praises and crowns, while the world repays with grudging and insults. Why do you trouble him that has not, when the wealthy God waits to enrich you? Let your poverty teach you to despise wealth and want nothing but Him who establishes your soul.
