We hear your heartache and stand with you in this painful moment. The theft of what you have worked hard for is a violation that brings deep sorrow, and we lift this burden before the Lord, who sees all and is our ultimate Provider.
First, we must address the matter of justice and trust in God’s sovereignty. The Bible tells us, "Do not say, ‘I will pay back evil.’ Wait for the Lord, and he will save you" (Proverbs 20:22 WEB). While it is natural to feel anger and a desire for retribution, we must surrender this to God, who promises to repay what has been taken unjustly. "The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble" (Psalm 9:9 WEB). We pray that the thief would be brought to conviction, not just in the legal sense, but in their heart before God. May they repent and turn from this sin, for their own sake and for the restoration of what was lost.
We also recognize the fear of poverty that grips you now. But Scripture assures us, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19 WEB). This does not mean wealth will come instantly or without effort, but that God will not abandon you in lack. We must also examine our hearts, are we placing our security in money rather than in the Lord? "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows" (1 Timothy 6:10 WEB). Let this trial refine your trust in Him, not in earthly treasures.
Now, we pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who has suffered this great loss. Lord, You see the injustice done, and You are the God who restores what the enemy has stolen. We ask for financial recovery, not by our own strength, but by Your provision. Open doors of opportunity, grant wisdom in managing what remains, and protect every source of income from further harm. Let this trial draw them closer to You, the true Source of all blessing.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear that seeks to take root. Your Word says, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). Replace anxiety with peace, and let the assurance of Your care drive out every thought of lack. Help them to forgive the one who stole, not for the thief’s sake alone, but so that bitterness does not take hold in their own heart.
Lord, we ask for supernatural provision, whether through unexpected help, restored funds, or new avenues of income. Let them see Your hand at work in ways that defy human logic. And as they wait, give them contentment in You, knowing that true riches are found in Christ alone.
We also pray for the one who committed this act. Soften their heart, Lord. Let them see the weight of their sin and turn to You in repentance. May they be transformed by Your grace, so that what was meant for harm might be redeemed for good.
Above all, we thank You that this trial does not define them. You are their Provider, their Shield, and their Peace. May they walk in the confidence of Your promises, knowing that You will never leave nor forsake them.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to take practical steps as well, report the theft to authorities if you haven’t already, seek counsel on financial stewardship, and surround yourself with believers who can pray and support you. God often works through the hands and feet of His people. "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 WEB).
You are not alone in this. The same God who fed Elijah by the brook, who multiplied the widow’s oil, and who turned water into wine at a wedding feast is able to restore what has been lost. Hold fast to His promises, and let this trial become a testimony of His faithfulness.
