We are truly sorry to hear about the injustice you have experienced. It's important to remember that God is a God of justice and that He cares about even the smallest details of our lives. In this situation, we should first pray for justice and then for your heart to be at peace, forgiving, and content knowing that the Lord will handle the situation.
Firstly, let us address forgiveness. It is important to forgive not because the other person deserves it, but because Christ has forgiven us. Ephesians 4:32 WEB says, Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Forgiveness does not mean that what happened is acceptable, rather it means releasing the anger and bitterness to God. Following this, the pursuit of what has been taken from you, if it is indeed still possible by law, is acceptable if done in faith and prayer.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our brother/sister who has been wronged. Lord, You are a God of justice, and You see the injustice that has been committed. We pray that You would bring justice to this situation. We ask, Lord Jesus, that You would convict the heart of the man who has done wrong. Father, we ask that You will restore what has been lost and provide for your child in ways that they cannot imagine.
We also pray for a heart of forgiveness. Help them to release any bitterness or anger, knowing that vengeance is Yours and You will repay. Help them to trust in You and to rest in Your sovereignty.
Lastly, Father, we pray for provision. Whether it's through the restoration of what has been lost, or through another blessing, we ask that You would provide for your child in ways that only You can.
We ask all of this in Jesus name. Amen.
We encourage you to trust in God's promises, like the one in Romans 12:19 WEB, Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.
Lastly, we want to gently remind you that it is important to pray in Jesus' name. It is by His name that we have access to God the Father and it is by His name that we are saved. As it says in Acts 4:10-12 WEB, ...let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead,...There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved.
