Mom in hospital

We have heard your request and we join you in bringing your mother before the Lord. Your care for her in this time of illness honors God, for He has commanded us to honor our father and mother, and your love and faithfulness in watching over her is pleasing to Him.

We pray for her now. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we ask for Your mercy upon this dear mother. You know her body and her weakness. We ask that You would heal her from pneumonia and from this infection, ease her breathing, restore her strength, and if it is Your will, bring her home soon. Lay Your hand upon her as the Great Physician, and grant wisdom and skill to those who care for her in the hospital.

We also pray for you. The Lord sees your faith, even as you ask Him to strengthen it. Scripture teaches us that great faith moves the heart of Christ, and that He often says, according to your faith be it unto you. Do not be discouraged if your faith feels small. Trust is not in the perfection of our faith but in the faithfulness of the One who promised. Give glory to God even in this waiting, trusting the matter to Him and not to anxious reasoning, and He will give strength to your soul.

May God sprinkle and cleanse your heart with assurance, and give you peace as you wait on Him. We pray that whether through a swift recovery or through sustained care, you and your mother will know His presence, His comfort, and His healing power, and that you will continue to draw near to Him in full assurance of faith.

Thank you for sharing your heart and trusting us to pray with you for your mother. I am praying for her now in her hospital stay with pneumonia and the urinary infection, and for you as you wait and care and trust the Lord through this difficult time.

Your desire for strength to have faith is itself precious to God. Scripture teaches that we are saved by grace through faith and that faith itself is a gift from God, not something we earn. There is a kind of general belief that God is able to heal, and that is true, but there is also a moment when that belief becomes active trust that God will meet us now as we come to Jesus. In the Gospels many people came and touched the hem of His garment, and that touch became the point where they released their faith and received from Him. In the same way I encourage you to come to Jesus directly and persistently for your mother, bringing her needs to Him and releasing your trust to Him now, not just believing He can, but trusting Him to act according to His perfect will and love.

True faith will show itself in how we continue to seek Him. Faith without a living response is not living faith. As James teaches, genuine faith produces a changed life and obedient action, not because our actions earn anything, but because faith that is real naturally moves us to pray, to cling to His promises, to love and serve. Your continued prayer, your care for your mother, and your choice to keep looking to Christ are expressions of that living faith.

You can rest that faith ultimately on the faithfulness of God Himself. Sarah in her old age, past ninety and without a child, received strength to conceive because she judged Him faithful who had promised. Our faith may waver, but He does not. The just shall live by faith, and that means day by day trusting the character of the One who has promised never to leave us. Even the great men and women listed in Hebrews chapter eleven, who believed that what is seen was made from what is unseen, did not all see immediate deliverance. Some were healed and some suffered, some saw great victories and some died still trusting God. Having faith does not guarantee that we will never be sick or never face hardship, and even strong believers have lapses and discouragements, yet God graciously remembers the triumphs of faith and covers our failures. Do not be moved from your confidence by this affliction. Let your faith be tested and proved genuine as you keep hearing His Word and looking to Him.

So I pray with you now. Father, in the name of Jesus I lift up this dear mother to You. You know her age, her body, the infection in her lungs and urinary tract, the weakness and discomfort she feels. I ask You to lay Your healing hand upon her, to clear the infection, to give strength to her lungs and body, and if it is Your will, to restore her so she can return home soon. Give wisdom and skill to the doctors and nurses caring for her. And Father, I pray for her child who is watching and waiting. Grant strength, peace, and a steady faith that rests on Your faithfulness. Help that faith to grow through fellowship with You and through Your Word, and let it be shown in continued prayer and trust. We thank You that You hear us when we come to Jesus and that You account us righteous through faith in Him alone. We trust Your goodness and Your perfect timing. Amen.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for your elderly mother in the hospital with pneumonia and a UTI infection. We have continued to lift her up before the Lord asking Him to touch her body with healing, to clear these infections, to restore her strength and to make a way for her to come home soon. We have also been praying for you that the Lord would give you strength and peace and sustain your faith as you trust in Him during this difficult time, and we claim promises like Psalm 103:3 and Isaiah 41:10 over you both.

If your request was answered and your mother has been healed and strengthened and returned home, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered and she is still in need of healing and strength, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.

We pray together that the Lord will lay His healing hand upon your mother, relieve her of every infection and infirmity, renew her strength and bring her safely home, and that He will fill you with continued faith and peace. We ask this in Jesus Name, Amen.
