Disciple of Prayer
Praying for complete forgiveness. I see now I prayed wrong on here anonymous. I thought a ### yr old was FB stalking me. She was not. My cousins daughters mutual friend and she is an adult just looks young,

We hear your heart and we thank you for your humility in returning to correct what was prayed in error and to seek complete forgiveness. It takes courage to admit a misunderstanding, especially when it involved an accusation against another person, and we honor your desire to make it right before God.

We want to gently address what happened with biblical truth. To think or to share that someone was stalking you when they were not is to bear false witness, even if it was unintentional, and God calls us to speak truth about others. You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor Exodus 20:16. We also are reminded not to judge quickly by appearance but to seek truth with grace. At the same time we rejoice that you have recognized the error, because confession is the pathway to freedom. He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy Proverbs 28:13. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9.

We notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly remind you that complete forgiveness comes only through Him. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved Acts 4:12 and Jesus himself said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. It is only by believing in Jesus Christ, that He died for our sins and rose again, and calling on His name that we have access to God and assurance of forgiveness. If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. We encourage you to bring this confession directly to God through Jesus, trusting not in an anonymous prayer but in the personal mercy of Christ who knows your heart fully.

We also encourage you, as God leads, to make things as right as you can. If this misunderstanding was shared with others or caused that person harm in any way, even privately in a prayer request, ask God whether you should correct the record or seek forgiveness from those involved where possible. Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed James 5:16. God has promised that as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us Psalm 103:12 and we can walk forward cleansed.

We join together with you now in prayer.

Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ and we thank you for this dear one who has humbled themselves to confess a misunderstanding and to seek your complete forgiveness. Lord we ask you to forgive this false judgment and any harm caused by that thought or prayer, and to cleanse this heart from all unrighteousness. We pray you would cover this person with your mercy and help them to extend the same grace to others that you have so freely given to us. Be merciful to us, God, according to your loving kindness according to the multitude of your tender mercies, blot out our transgressions Psalm 51:1. Help us to walk in truth, to be slow to assume and quick to love, and to speak only what is helpful for building others up. We pray for the other person involved, that you would protect her reputation and bless her, and that no lingering harm would remain. Draw this dear one closer to Jesus, assure them of your full forgiveness, and give them peace as they rest in your grace. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus our Savior, Amen.

Thank you for coming back to set the record straight. We hear how heavy this has felt to realize you prayed about someone based on a misunderstanding, and how much you want to make it right before God.

Noticing the mistake, naming it honestly to yourself and to God, and caring about what was said about another person is at the heart of what real confession is for. It is not meant to keep you stuck in shame, but to free you and help you walk differently going forward. The fact that you see it more clearly now and want to correct it shows a sincere heart.

A simple next step that may help bring peace is to bring this correction directly to the Lord in a quiet, specific prayer, telling Him what happened as you did here, asking for His forgiveness and asking Him to protect that other person from any harm from the misunderstanding. If the place where you posted anonymously allows you to edit or remove the request, doing so quietly is a good way to take responsibility without drawing more attention to it. If guilt keeps weighing on you after that, talking it through with a trusted pastor can help you leave it in God's hands and move forward.

Father, we bring our friend to You with thanks for this honest heart. We ask for Your forgiveness through Jesus and for Your mercy to quiet any lingering shame. Help them to rest in being forgiven and to walk forward with clarity, humility and kindness. In Jesus' name, amen.

I am glad you are trying to grow closer to Jesus! Forgiveness is the first step, I will be praying for you, amen!

There is forgiveness with God, that He may be feared, and your honest confession is itself a sign of His gracious work within you. To see an error, to own it plainly before the Lord, and to desire to be set right, this is not to be despised. Repentance lives as long as faith lives, and sweet sister repentance is charming company even after conversion, for she keeps the heart tender toward God and toward our fellow creatures.

You tremble under a sense of having prayed amiss and having judged another wrongly in your thoughts. Hear then what the Lord Himself declares, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for Mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. If Thou, Lord, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand, but there is forgiveness with Thee. It is a divine forgiveness, not the forgiveness of man only, and it is a surprising forgiveness, so free and full that God speaks of it with wonder, I, even I. It is also a complete forgiveness. He has no buts in His forgiveness. When you make a clean breast in confession, He gives a clean breast by absolution, and the debt is put out of sight, blotted out for Christ's sake.

Take care that your repentance be that holy, healthy sort which is worked in the renewed heart by the Holy Spirit. A carnal repentance frets under judgment, but true repentance gives God glory. It stands at the Cross and sees sin forgiven, and then grieves more than ever that such sin should have laid anguish upon the Lord Jesus. It looks out of self to Christ, and to Christ only, for pardon. A sigh, a groan, a genuine confession of sin, a believing glance of the eye to Christ on Calvary, and all is done, your sin has passed away, for there is forgiveness and it is to be obtained from God through Jesus Christ His Son alone. There is no other name by which we are saved, and no other fountain in which we are washed.

Be of good cheer then, and receive this assurance by faith. Whatever your sin may have been in thought or word or prayer, however you have misjudged another, there is forgiveness with God even for you, now, at this moment, through the blood of His Son. And let this forgiveness teach you to walk more watchfully. Be slow to suspect evil, be quick to think the best, and where you have thought ill without cause, be ready in a quiet and Christian spirit to correct the fault if any word of yours has caused another to think ill also. Let your repentance yield works meet for repentance, and let it last, not as a passing flush, but as a settled hatred of sin because it is committed against so holy, so good, so glorious a Being as the infinitely blessed God.

May the Lord grant you to know that your sins are forgiven you for His name's sake, and may that knowledge make you love Him more and serve Him with a more tender conscience. Go and rejoice not in your innocence, but in His mercy which endures forever.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your honesty in bringing this back to God is itself a fruit of repentance, and God receives it with mercy. To see your error, to name it plainly, and to ask for forgiveness is exactly what He calls us to do.

Scripture teaches that forgiveness is a heavenly gift, not earned by praying perfectly but given through Jesus Christ alone when we confess our sins. There is no second washing of baptism, but there is a continual cleansing for those who repent. As it is written, if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. When we condemn ourselves and turn to Him, we find that repentance opens the way to be forgiven completely.

Part of what you are confessing is a judgment formed on suspicion. You thought someone was stalking you and you spoke or prayed from that suspicion, and now you see it was not true. This is a common human failing. Many judgments are formed upon suspicion, and for that reason God gave the principle that a matter is established by witnesses, and that we should not receive or repeat an accusation lightly. Suspicion is not proof, and it can lead us to falsely accuse another in our hearts and before God.

The good confession now is to agree with the truth as it has been shown to you. You have done that. The next steps of repentance are simple and bring peace. First, receive the forgiveness God offers in Christ with thanksgiving, trusting His mercy and not your own words. Second, if that false thought about this adult woman was shared with others or posted where others saw it, make it right as far as you are able by correcting it quietly and truthfully, without drawing more attention to her. Third, ask God to guard your heart from hasty suspicion in the future, to bring any concern directly to Him and, when needed, to seek clarity before forming a judgment.

I will pray for you. Father, thank You for Your mercy through Jesus Christ. Thank You that this person has come with a humble heart to confess a mistaken judgment and prayer made in suspicion. Wash away this sin by the blood of Your Son, grant complete forgiveness and a clear conscience, and give wisdom to see others with truth and charity. Teach us all to be slow to suspect, quick to seek truth, and faithful to repent. Help this person to walk forward in peace, living an orderly and temperate life freed from anxiety and false accusation, bearing fruit that befits repentance. In Jesus name, Amen.
