Mistake and consequences.

Beloved of All
I wanted to follow up on the post regarding the backdated renewal lease which was an unwise choice. Afterwards, the landlord sent two (on separate occasions) more backdated renewal leases with higher rent rates for each and wanted to pressure me to sign them IMMEDIATELY. I refused to sign those leases and will bring that to the advocate’s attention. Father in Jesus name please make a way for me to get out of the lease that I signed in haste and thank you for instructing me not to sign the two additional backdated leases that were presented to me. Lesson learned always pray before making decisions and wait for the answer. Thanks Articles and Hostadmin for your previous responses to my original post. Can you also pray that I will resist trying to fix my own problems? I feel so bad for acting unwise and deepened my debt issue. I admit that I made a big mistake. I should have waited but that didn’t happen. Father the landlord lied. Father do you see what I did? Can you please get me out?

We hear your cry for help and the weight of regret you carry for acting in haste without seeking the Lord’s wisdom first. Your honesty about this mistake is a crucial step toward healing and restoration. Scripture reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* You are learning the hard way what it means to surrender control and wait on the Lord, and we praise God for His mercy in revealing this truth to you now.

The pressure from your landlord to sign those backdated leases is unjust and unethical, and we rebuke any spirit of manipulation or coercion in this situation. The enemy seeks to exploit our weaknesses, but God is greater. James 4:7 declares, *"Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you."* You did well to refuse those additional leases, and we pray the Lord strengthens you to stand firm against any further intimidation. Proverbs 22:22-23 warns, *"Don’t exploit the poor, because he is poor; and don’t crush the needy in court; for Yahweh will plead their case, and plunder the life of those who plunder them."*

We also lift up your struggle with debt and the temptation to "fix" things in your own strength. This is a snare many fall into, but the Lord calls us to cast our burdens upon Him. Psalm 55:22 says, *"Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved."* Your admission of wrongdoing is not a sign of weakness but of humility, and God honors that. 1 John 1:9 assures us, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."*

Let us pray together now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, acknowledging our dependence on You alone. Lord, we lift up this dear brother/sister who has made a mistake in haste and is now facing the consequences. Father, we ask that You intervene in this lease situation. Make a way where there seems to be no way, and grant wisdom to the advocate who will assist. Expose any deceit from the landlord and bring justice according to Your righteousness.

Lord, we pray against the spirit of shame and self-condemnation. Your Word says in Romans 8:1, *"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit."* Remind them of Your grace and mercy, which are new every morning. Help them to resist the urge to take matters into their own hands and instead wait on You for direction.

Father, we ask for financial provision and wisdom to manage debt. Open doors of opportunity and give them favor with those who can help. Teach them to seek You first in all decisions, as Matthew 6:33 instructs, *"But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."*

Lord, we rebuke the enemy’s lies that this situation is hopeless. You are the God who makes all things new, and we trust You to redeem this circumstance for Your glory. Strengthen their faith and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and His Word daily. Psalm 32:8 promises, *"I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you."* Surround yourself with godly counsel, and remember that God’s timing is perfect. He is not surprised by this situation, and He is already working on your behalf. Keep your eyes on Him, and do not grow weary in doing good. Galatians 6:9 reminds us, *"Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up."*

We're right there with you, friend. It's tough when we rush into things without seeking God's wisdom first, but remember, He's using this to shape and strengthen you. In Joel 2:25, God promises, "I will restore to you the years that the locust has eaten." He's not punishing you; He's working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).

Keep standing firm in your refusal to sign those backdated leases. You did the right thing by not caving to pressure. God sees your resolve, and He'll give you the strength to endure. As it says in Ephesians 6:13, "Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm."

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We are so grateful that you shared your heart with us and allowed us to stand in the gap with you in prayer during this challenging time. It takes great humility and wisdom to recognize a mistake and seek the Lord’s guidance, and we praise God for the way He has already directed your steps—especially in giving you the discernment to refuse those additional backdated leases. What a testimony to His faithfulness even in the midst of difficult circumstances!

We continue to lift you up, asking the Father to make a clear way for you to be released from the lease you signed in haste. May He open doors that no man can shut and provide a resolution that honors Him and brings peace to your heart. We also pray for protection over your mind and emotions, that you would not be weighed down by guilt or anxiety, but instead walk in the confidence of His forgiveness and grace. Father, we ask that You break any spirit of self-reliance or the temptation to "fix" things in your own strength. Help this dear one to rest in Your sovereignty, trusting that You see the situation fully and are working all things together for good.

Thank you for the reminder to wait on the Lord and seek Him first—what a powerful lesson for all of us. If this prayer has been answered, we would love to rejoice with you! Please share a praise report so we can give Him the glory. If you’re still waiting, know that we stand with you, continuing to intercede until you see His deliverance. May the Lord bless you abundantly as you press into Him, and may His peace guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
