Prayer Warrior
I used to struggle (still do, not as much) With misogyny because of school. I feel like woman are always judging me, I don't want to feel this way but I do. It gets really hard sometimes and I struggle to go outside. I am grateful because it got a lot better, but, I still struggle with it. If I see a woman in public I avoid her because I feel like she will laugh at me, I also have some family members who don't believe and someone who doesn't take the bible seriously and thinks it's not a sin to be LGBTQ+

We hear your struggle and the pain behind these feelings, and we want to come alongside you in prayer and truth. First, we must address the root of misogyny, prejudice or hatred toward women, which is not aligned with God’s heart. The Bible teaches that men and women are both created in God’s image (Genesis 1:27) and calls believers to honor and respect one another, regardless of gender. Jesus Himself treated women with dignity and love, breaking cultural norms to affirm their worth (John 4:7-26, Luke 8:1-3). When we harbor resentment or fear toward an entire group of people, it grieves the Holy Spirit and distorts God’s design for unity in Christ (Galatians 3:28).

Your fear of judgment is understandable, but we must examine where it comes from. The enemy often amplifies insecurity to isolate us, making us believe lies about ourselves or others. Scripture reminds us, "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear" (1 John 4:18). The women you encounter are not your enemies, many are sisters in Christ or image-bearers of God who may be struggling with their own insecurities. Instead of avoiding them, ask the Lord to help you see them through His eyes. Pray for opportunities to show kindness, even in small ways, as a testimony of Christ’s love.

We also must address the influence of your family members who reject biblical truth, particularly regarding sexuality. The Bible is clear that God designed marriage as a covenant between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6) and that homosexual behavior is a sin (Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10). However, this does not mean we should hate or reject those who disagree. Jesus calls us to love sinners while hating sin (John 8:1-11), and to speak truth in love (Ephesians 4:15). Their unbelief does not have to shape your convictions. Stand firm in God’s Word, but do so with gentleness and respect (1 Peter 3:15-16). Pray for their hearts to be softened to the truth, even as you guard your own heart from compromise.

Your struggle to go outside is a spiritual battle, and we must take every thought captive to obey Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). When fear rises, declare God’s truth over yourself: "The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalm 27:1). Start small, ask God to give you courage to make eye contact with one woman this week, or to offer a simple smile. Each step of obedience weakens the enemy’s grip on your heart.

We also want to gently remind you that salvation is found in Jesus Christ alone. If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender your life to Him, confessing your sins and trusting in His sacrifice for your forgiveness (Romans 10:9-10). Only through Christ can we experience true freedom from fear, bitterness, and sin. If you have already done this, we rejoice with you and encourage you to walk closely with Him, renewing your mind daily in His Word.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother, lifting up his heart to You. Lord, we ask You to break the chains of fear and misogyny that have taken root in his life. Replace his anxiety with Your perfect love, and help him to see women as You see them, precious and created in Your image. Forgive him for any bitterness or resentment, and fill him with Your Spirit of compassion and humility.

Father, we also pray for his family members who do not know You or who reject Your truth. Soften their hearts, Lord, and open their eyes to the beauty of Your design for life and relationships. Give our brother wisdom and grace as he interacts with them, that he may be a light without compromising Your Word.

Strengthen him, Lord, to step out in faith, even when it feels hard. Remind him that You are with him always (Matthew 28:20) and that Your grace is sufficient for every struggle (2 Corinthians 12:9). Renew his mind with Your truth, and help him to walk in the freedom Christ died to give him.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, who alone has the power to transform hearts and set captives free. Amen.

You are not alone in this battle. The Lord sees your pain and your desire to change, and He is faithful to complete the work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). Keep pressing into Him, surrounding yourself with godly community, and trusting that He will lead you into greater freedom. If you have not already, consider finding a biblical counselor or a trusted pastor who can help you work through these struggles with wisdom and accountability. The journey may not be easy, but it is worth it, because Christ is worth it.

We're grateful you shared this with us. That feeling of being watched and judged is exhausting, and the fact that you're aware of it and want it to change says a great deal about your heart. You've already seen improvement, and that's real progress worth holding onto, even on the harder days.

Something we notice is how avoidance works against us. When we pull back from a feared situation, our brain learns the wrong lesson: "I'm safe now because I avoided her." That relief feels good, but it actually strengthens the fear next time. The cycle is real, and you're not weak for being caught in it, it's how we're wired. Breaking it often starts small. Maybe one low-risk interaction this week: a brief "hello" to a cashier, then keep moving. No pressure to prove anything. You're simply showing your own mind that most women are not the ones who hurt you before.

Your mention of family who don't share your faith or convictions adds another layer. It's lonely to carry spiritual weight without people close to you who understand. That loneliness can mix with old wounds from school and make the world feel more hostile than it truly is. If you have even one trusted person, a mentor, a friend from church, a counselor, this is the kind of burden that grows lighter when spoken aloud.

We pray with you now:

Lord Jesus, you see how hard it is for our friend to walk into a room and feel judged before anyone says a word. We ask you to heal the memories from school that taught him this fear. Give him courage for small steps today, and calm his body when anxiety rises. Help him find safe people who will listen without dismissing his struggles. And in those family conversations about faith and truth, grant him wisdom and a quiet, steady love that points to you. In your strong name we ask, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The wounds from a cruel tongue are not easily healed, and it is no small thing to feel the sting of derision, whether real or imagined. Yet know this: the very leaves of the Tree of Life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ has a healing virtue in it. You have not stumbled upon a malady beyond His cure, for He came to bind up the brokenhearted and to set at liberty those who are oppressed by fear.

What you describe, this dread of a woman’s glance, the conviction that you will be laughed to scorn, is a bondage that springs from the slavish fear of man, a fear that brings a snare. It is also a soil in which the root of bitterness called misogyny has grown. You are right to be grieved by it, for it is a sin to despise those whom God has made in His own image. But to know the disease is half the battle. Now, look away from yourself to the great Healer. If any man would be healed of the guilt of sin, he must look to the eternal merits of the Lamb slain, who is now upon the throne of God. There is cleansing from all iniquity in that fount filled with blood. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy, He said, “Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.” Pardon and healing were one. Bring this twisted feeling to Him, confess it as sin, and believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, God’s Son, cleanseth from all sin. Sanctification does not come by self-reliance, but as a work of the Spirit received by faith in Christ.

As to the terror that seizes you in public, refuse to let the clanking fetters of this fear bind you any longer. These chains are not intended for God’s freemen. He shall send from heaven and save you from the reproach of him that would swallow you up. The sword of Justice has no terrors for you if you are in Christ, for it was plunged in His heart on purpose. Why then should you tremble at the mere opinion of a fellow creature? Lay hold upon this: when a man knows he is right with God, he may snap his fingers in the face of all men’s scorn. Do you desire to be right with God? Then weigh yourself in His balances. You feel that women are always judging you; but what is the judgment of man when set beside the judgment of God? There is a day coming when the secrets of all hearts shall be laid bare before the risen Saviour, and He shall judge righteously. Set your house in order for that appearing, and the petty tribunals of this world will lose their dread. Cherish rather a loving fear of grieving your heavenly Father, a holy dread that makes you watch every footstep; that fear will drive out the other.

One more word. You grieve over family members who do not believe and one who treats the Word of God lightly, even that which concerns the clearest precepts of purity. This is a heavy trial. But remember, the man was blind from his birth, and his darkness baffled all human skill; it was a work for a Divine hand alone. Pray much for them. The Spirit of God can remove scales from the most blinded eyes. Yet do not let their error shake your own soul. Stand upon the rock of Scripture. That book is not a nose of wax to be shaped by the whims of the age. Sin is sin, and grace is grace; and none of us dare to call evil good, though the whole world should vote it. Still, let your witness be seasoned with the compassion you have yourself received. You, who have found mercy for your own inward corruption, can tell of a Saviour who receiveth sinners. Point them to the leaves of the tree which are for the healing of their souls too, the least promise of the gospel has power to cure. May the Sun of Righteousness arise upon you with healing in His wings, and may you find your heart enlarged with love to all who are made in the image of God, until that day when every scar of sin is gone.

The very fear you describe, that women are always judging you and will laugh at you, is itself a form of unbelief. You are more afraid of their opinion than of offending God. Consider the Israelites who stood at the borders of the promised land: they had seen God's mighty works, yet they yielded to fear and imagined nothing great of Him. By that unbelief they perished in the wilderness. Do not follow that same example. You say you do not want to feel this way, and I believe you. But your avoidance of women in public is not humility; it is a proud fear. You assume you know their thoughts, and you let that dictate your steps. Lay that pride low. Be not high-minded, but fear, fear God, not man.

The yoke of Christ is easy, and His burden is light. Learn from Him who is meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your soul. When you see a woman, remember that she is a fellow creature made in God's image, and that Christ died for her as much as for you. If you harbor resentment or suspicion, you are drinking from a cup that is not the Lord's. You cannot partake of the Lord's table and the table of demons, the table of envy, suspicion, and hatred. That path leads to spiritual ruin. Instead, imitate the faith of the centurion and those who brought the sick to Christ. Even when you cannot approach another person without fear, the faith you exercise in prayer can bring healing to this deep wound. Cry out to the Lord as the woman with the issue of blood touched the hem of His garment: her faith made her whole, and so yours can drive out this unclean spirit of misogyny.

You mention family members who do not believe, and one who treats the Scriptures lightly, even claiming what God calls sin is not sin. This should grieve you, but do not let their unbelief infect your own. God often allows temporal troubles, fears, losses, conflicts, to wake us up before the final judgment. Do not be like Sarah in her laughter of doubt, but be like her when she feared and said, "I did not laugh." Let holy fear drive out the remnants of unbelief. Pray earnestly for your family, and guard your own soul. The Lord delays judgment out of lovingkindness, so that sinners may wash away their transgressions. But that window will not stay open forever. As for you, do not waste your days hiding from shadows. A garment your servant wore you would not touch, yet you clothe your mind with the filthy rags of suspicion and avoidance. Be ashamed of the sin, not of the words I speak. Let the fear of God cast out the fear of man, and walk in the freedom of those who know that Christ has burst the gates of hell and loosed the dead. He can certainly loose you from this bondage. Cry out to Him, and do not delay.
