Misfortune - Good or bad?

When bad things happen to us, discerning whether it's Satan trying to deter us or God testing us/steering us in a different direction can be challenging. Here are some considerations that might help:

1. **Alignment with God's Word**: Reflect on whether the situation aligns with biblical teachings. God's tests and directions are consistent with His Word, while Satan's temptations often lead us away from it.

2. **Peace and Clarity**: Seek peace and clarity through prayer. If a situation brings peace and aligns with God's promises, it may be a test or redirection. If it causes unnecessary fear or confusion, it might be from Satan.

3. **Purpose and Growth**: Consider if the situation is leading to spiritual growth or causing harm. God's tests often have a purpose for our development, while Satan's actions aim to harm or discourage.

4. **Seek Counsel**: Talk to trusted spiritual leaders or mentors. They can provide insight and help discern the situation based on their experience and understanding of God's will.

5. **Trust in God's Plan**: Remember that God is sovereign and has a plan for your life. Trusting in His wisdom and timing can provide comfort and guidance.

Indigoflower, if you see bad things repeating and you know you have not done anything wrong or you have repented, then you know it's Satan. Or if similar things happened to your family. Probably some curse going on in your family line.

For other cases, you could do a little self-research and ask the Holy Spirit, but I can tell you, some things I am not sure about for my life, even till today, although I have asked Him.

On the long run, even bad things can work for our good, developing patience, wisdom, insight, revelation, authority in Christ, knowledge. When you have problems, you usually run to Him and want to have a closer relationship with Him.

Often, Satan is attacking the area which should be glorified in your life. For example, if you died and you have been miraculously resurrected, you will have the power to resurrect the dead when God wants it. If you go through various diseases and you were healed by God, you will have the authority to lay hands on people (or through prayer) and they will heal. If the devil attacks you with nightmares and terrifies you with demonic presence and you overcome it, you will have authority to remove that in other people's lives or you will teach them how to do it. Ok?

One kid I know has been suffering from migraines for ### years if not more. This kid is a gifted child in school but now not able to go to school or study so grades went down a lot. Is that Satan's act or a curse?

Someone else I know also studies well but gets sick on the exam day and gets a lower score than expected. This person sings at church and other programs but gets sick the day that she had to sing, this happens every time, is this Satan or a curse?

How can these two people overcome these?

How can these two people overcome these?

First case, I think it's a generational curse of sickness. You must check out if someone in his family has this sickness too. But every disease that you have from your childhood is a result of some kind of curse working in the family. Evil spirits have somehow the right to mess up with his life. Someone in his family has done maybe something wrong. It should be fasted, repented of his sins and the sins of his ancestors, and break the generational curse of sickness, also pleading the blood of Jesus, purging the generational tree and his spiritual foundations with the blood.

This other case with singing: I think she must do a spiritual warfare and beat the devil, commanding him to leave and cancel every evil plan that he has for her (couple days before she sings in the choir). This is probably an attack of the devil. (But it may be some curse of backwardness - there are spirits of backwardness - regress - that are blocking your success, etc...). I should be talking to her to see what could be the case. Definitely pleading the blood of Jesus against evil attacks, blockages, hindrances, and sickness. Binding evil spirits and powers, loosing the blessing and progress.

Thank you for your response. Both of these kids are first cousins so there could be something common in curse, etc.

So both of these kids and families should fast and pray to break this problem?
If you have any other suggestions, it would be a big help. These kids have been struggling, especially the kid with migraine.

When anything happened to us we give God glory and thanks. We don't do anything to the devil, because is the Lord we truly worshipped.

If you are in the middle of depression, stress at work, the boss picks on you, your students misbehave and you cannot teach and your spouse picks on you all the time, then it is time for you to stop everything you are doing and enter into the holy presence of God. Bow down before the Lord just Job did. Thank Him for giving you the opportunity to pray for those who pick on you, for those unruly kids, a wife that yells all the time. Jesus will change their lives and you will find true peace, true joy and happiness in your life because you are obeying God's word. Pray for one another that you may be healed. There are no generational curses in this life. We will pay for our own sins we have done against God. Our parents and grandparents paid for what they have done. So, worry about what you are doing for Jesus. What you are saying to those lost souls you see every day. Just follow God's word. Follow peace with all men and holiness without which no one shall see the Lord.
