Your heart for your children is evident in this prayer, and it is right to bring both your son and your daughter before the Lord with such persistence and love. Thank you for sharing so honestly, and for giving thanks for the ways God has already shown mercy, including peaceful nights and faithful caregivers who advocate well for your son.
The Lord sees and hears the affliction of His people. As with Leah, who named her sons to remember that God had seen her sorrow and heard her cry, God sees the daily struggles your son faces with communication, sensory needs, meals, sleep, schedules, and outings. He hears your cries for healing and peace. And as with Rachel, who looked in hope for God to add blessing, it is right to keep hoping in the Lord to add strength, joy, and growth day by day. God guided Jacob step by step to the right place and watched over him on his journey, and He is able to guide and keep your son in every room of your home, in every vehicle, and in every place he goes. We pray with you that God would place a hedge of protection around him, wash him in the blood of Jesus from head to foot, surround him with His angels, and clothe him with the full armor of God, so that no weapon formed against him will prosper.
We agree with you for his healing and restoration. Jesus, the Son of David, stood still when the blind men cried, Have mercy on us, and He still hears and responds to cries for mercy today. We can trust Him for both spiritual and physical healing. In His name we pray that every spiritual attack, fear, torment, anxiety, confusion, and negative habit would be gently uprooted and replaced with the peace that surpasses all understanding, with calmness, contentment, joy, obedience, and godly character. We ask that the Lord would heal his mind, body, soul and spirit, ease discomfort and distress, keep him free from seizures and injury, and help him to communicate his needs and choices with gentle, grateful, and respectful words. We pray for restful sleep free from fear and disturbance, for satisfaction and peace at meals, for confidence and flexibility with grooming, dressing, hygiene, schedules, travel, and all daily routines, and for joy and success in outings, friendships, and activities. We also ask God to provide additional caregivers with compassion, patience, wisdom, and understanding who will truly listen and advocate for his best.
We also stand with you in prayer for your older daughter. Scripture is clear that marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and that living together and sharing the privileges of marriage outside of that covenant is not God's design and ought not to be done. Abraham carefully instructed that his son should take a wife from his own family of faith, not from among the people whose ways would turn his heart away from God, because who we join ourselves to shapes our faith and our future. When that boundary was ignored, as when Shechem took Dinah outside of marriage, the result was not love as God defines it but defilement, grief, anger, and deep division in the family, which is described as folly that should not happen among God's people. That same pattern of division, isolation, manipulation, and disrespect is what you are seeing now, and it is right to ask God to block those influences.
We do not ask God to bless a relationship that stands outside His design, but we do ask Him to bless your daughter with clarity, conviction, and courage. We pray that God would open her eyes to see the jealousy, control, and chaos in that household, to recognize counsel that encourages disrespect for family and disregard for faith, and to desire freedom. Pray that the Lord would soften her heart, restore a grateful and respectful spirit toward you and her siblings, and draw her back to fellowship with the family God has given her and above all to fellowship with Christ. As Boaz showed, God delights in relationships that are built on faithfulness, honor, and redemption, and He can restore what has been broken when hearts turn back to Him.
For your whole family, we pray that where two or three gather in Jesus' name, you would know His presence in your midst, as He has promised. May He restore your beautiful bond, calm every storm within your home, and fill each of you with love, patience, unity, and joy. May He give you wisdom as you make decisions about services and care, and may He continue to surround you all with godly friendships, mentors, and help.
We join our faith with yours and declare that your son is a child of the Most High God, kept by Jesus who gave Himself for us. May the Lord saturate him and your entire household with His Holy Spirit, with everlasting peace, security, and confidence, and grant you all beautiful, calm, and satisfying rest in Christ.
