Beloved of All
Your faithful and persistent prayers for your son and for your family have been heard, and it is right to bring every detail of these burdens to Jesus.
Scripture shows us that when those in need cried out, Have mercy upon us, O Lord, thou son of David, the crowd told them to be quiet, but they cried all the more, and Jesus stood still to answer them. He is called the Son of David because He is truly man, the promised Messiah from David's line, and He is also the Son of God, given by the Father, Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. He still stands still to hear a parent's cry for mercy, and we can trust Him for both spiritual healing and physical healing.
God is a God of restoration. When a life has been broken by years of difficulty, sin, and the attacks of the enemy, restoration is His work. As David sought out the lame son of Jonathan and brought him from a barren place to sit at the king's table, so Christ restores what has been torn away. He restores health, restores soundness of mind, restores family, restores what the enemy has tried to steal. That is the hope we hold for your son, that the Lord would continue His restoring work in every area of his life.
We believe strongly in healing, and the Bible shows that healing comes in different ways. There is one account where Jesus laid His hands on a blind man and the healing came gradually, not all at once. Any true healing is divine, whether it comes instantly or through a process that God has built into the body and mind. We do not always understand why some are healed quickly and others gradually, but we can trust the Healer Himself. We pray for your son's complete healing, mind, body, soul and spirit, including the challenges of autism, trauma, anxiety, sensory struggles, stomach distress, and seizures. We thank God for the months of freedom from seizures and ask for continued protection and wholeness. We also ask for healing of emotions and mind, that fear, torment, rigidity, confusion and agitation would be gently uprooted and replaced with godly character, wisdom, gratitude, confidence and peaceful ways of communicating his needs with gentleness and respect.
Jesus is our peace. One of His names is Prince of Peace, and through Him we have peace with God. Having peace with God, He then gives us the peace of God that guards our hearts and minds, the peace that passes all understanding. Scripture always puts grace before peace, because we cannot know His peace until we know His grace in Christ. For those far off and those near, God says, Peace, peace, I will heal him. He has broken down the wall between us and God and offers forgiveness, healing and restoration. For those who continue in rebellion there is no peace, like a troubled sea, but when a heart turns to Jesus the war is over. That deep, lasting peace is what we ask for your son, a calm and contented spirit, restful sleep free from fear and disturbance, satisfaction and joy in meals, grooming, dressing, outings, travel and daily routines, and obedience and confidence in every activity and schedule.
Through faith in Jesus Christ we become children of God by adoption. Jesus alone is the only begotten Son of the Father, full of grace and truth, and it is through Him that we who were under the law receive adoption as sons. In Christ we have the grace of God, the peace of God, and the keeping power of God. These blessings belong to all who are in Him. We pray your son, as a child of the Most High, would be kept continually filled with the Holy Spirit, clothed with the full armor of God, washed and covered by the blood of Jesus from head to foot, surrounded by a hedge of protection around his body, his home, every room and door, every vehicle and every place he goes, with ministering angels encamped around him, so that no sickness, evil, or weapon formed against him will prosper, and every negative influence, spiritual attack and word spoken against him would be removed.
We also lift up your daughter. God loves her and desires her wholeness, and because He loves His children He corrects those He receives as sons and daughters. His discipline is proof that we belong to Him, and after correction He brings the peaceable fruit of righteousness and restores fellowship. Living together outside of marriage is not marriage in God's sight. Marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and sharing a home and intimacy belongs only within that covenant. We cannot ask God to bless what His Word calls outside His design. Instead we pray that the Lord will open her eyes to see the spiritual harm and division this relationship has brought, that He will soften her heart toward Him and toward the supportive family He has given her, that He will reveal any jealousy, control, manipulation and counsel that dishonors faith and family, and that He will give her courage to turn away from what isolates her and to desire freedom in Christ. We ask Him to block every divisive and controlling influence and to restore a grateful, respectful and loving bond within your family, with fellowship, joy and calm together.
For your own guidance in choosing services and caregivers for your son, we pray for wisdom and discernment. We thank God for the faithful caregivers He has already provided who advocate for your son's needs, and we ask Him to raise up more dedicated, compassionate, godly caregivers, mentors and friends who will encourage and uplift him with patience, understanding and strength, and who will help him grow into all God intends for him.
May the Lord saturate your son with perfect peace, love, joy and contentment today and in the days ahead, give him gentle words, a satisfied heart at mealtimes without distress or confusion, and a joyful, willing spirit in every routine. May He restore enjoyment and success in outings, friendships and all daily activities, keep him safe in every walk, drive and appointment, and anoint your home and travels with protection. May He strengthen the loving bond between your son and his siblings and fill all your family relationships with compassion, patience, unity and encouragement, so that your son may be a light wherever he goes.
