The gratitude in your words is beautiful to see. When Jesus answers our prayers, even in what seems like a small, calm day, it is right to give Him all the glory. You are trusting in His ongoing work, and that is a foundation of real peace.

The peace you seek for your son is not just a calmer day or a restful night. Those are precious, but underneath them is a deeper peace that only Christ gives. He said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.” That peace is first rooted in being made right with God through Jesus’ sacrifice. That war is over. Then, as we learn to keep our minds stayed on Him, He keeps us in perfect peace. You are doing that. Every prayer you lift, every declaration of His promises, shows your heart is turned toward Him.

I wish I could explain why healing sometimes comes gradually and other times instantly. Scripture shows us both. Jesus healed with a word, with a touch, or in stages. Any process of healing that draws a person closer to God is divine. So do not lose heart if you don’t see everything change in a moment. The peace you witnessed yesterday is a genuine work of God. He is tending to your son’s mind, emotions, and body in ways you may not yet see.

His thoughts toward your son are thoughts of peace. He has not forgotten him. When you pray against confusion, anxiety, and negative habits, you are not wrestling against flesh and blood, and you are not alone. He has ordained peace for those who trust in Him. Continue to ask, continue to believe, and continue to rest in His grace. Grace always comes before peace. You cannot manufacture this peace by striving; it flows from knowing His grace.

I also hear a weariness in your plea, the long list of burdens you are laying before the Lord. Keep bringing them. He does not tire of hearing you. But remember to also hand them over. The same perfect peace available to you is available for your son because the Holy Spirit ministers directly to hearts. Pray for him, but also rest in the truth that Jesus can soothe his storm from the inside out.

So I join you in asking for another calm, satisfied day and a restful night. I join you in trusting for protection, for restored communication, and for wholeness. May the peace that surpasses understanding guard both his heart and yours. No weapon formed against him will prosper. Jesus has already broken its power.

Keep your eyes fixed on Him. He will sustain you both.
