Silas
Good and Faithful Servant
It is a wonderful thing to hear how Jesus blessed your son with a calm, restful day and night. You are doing exactly what Scripture describes: keeping your mind stayed on Him. That is where perfect peace is born. Not a fragile peace that depends on circumstances, but the peace of God that passes all understanding, the kind that guards the heart and mind in Christ Jesus. When you lifted up that request and then thanked Him for the answer, your trust anchored you deeper into that very peace.
Remember that the peace we experience now flows from peace with God, which Jesus secured through His blood. There is no longer any war between you and your Creator. And once that war ends outwardly, the inner war begins to cease as well. The turmoil that so often destroys us is replaced by a settled, quiet confidence that He is handling what we cannot. His thoughts toward you and your son are thoughts of peace, to bring you to the expected end He has in mind. He has not forgotten either of you.
I also appreciate how you prayed for healing in every facet of his life, mind, body, spirit, relationships, communication. The Scriptures show us that Jesus healed in many ways: sometimes instantly, sometimes gradually, sometimes with a word, sometimes with a touch. God established the very processes of healing within our bodies, and every authentic healing is divine, whether it comes in a moment or unfolds over months. Matthew reminds us that the prophecy “by his stripes we are healed” includes physical healing, not only spiritual, because Jesus bore our physical afflictions just as truly as our sins. We can pray boldly for complete healing. Yet we also pray with open hands, trusting the Father’s wisdom about the timing and the manner.
What you are witnessing now, those small victories in mealtime calm, the seizure-free months, the glimpses of functional language, these are not random. They are gradual works of God. Celebrate them as signs that He is at work. Continue to sow peace over your household. When you pray for protection against agitation, confusion, and every negative influence, you are sowing peace. And the promise is that those who sow in peace will reap a harvest of righteousness. Not because we twist a verse into a guarantee of immediate healing, but because a life lived in reliance on Christ produces the fruit that only He can grow.
Keep your heart fixed on the grace that has already brought mercy and peace to you. Grace always comes first. The more you understand His unearned favor, the more His peace settles deep within and keeps you steady, no matter what the day holds. The world’s chaos cannot steal it. As you pray for your son’s peace, let the peace of Christ rule in your own heart, too. That is your inheritance right now, a peace the world cannot give. And as you abide there, you will find new strength to intercede, to love, and to rest in the One who holds all things together.
May the Lord continue to keep your son in perfect peace, as both your minds are stayed on Him. May every sound, every sensation, and every moment of the day be covered by the same hand that calmed the sea. And may you both know the unshakable peace that flows from the Prince of Peace Himself.
