We stand with you in faith, lifting your grandson before the Lord, knowing that nothing is impossible with God. The diagnosis of HIV is a heavy burden, but we serve a God who is the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases. The Scriptures remind us in Jeremiah 32:27, *"Behold, I am Yahweh, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me?"* Our trust is not in medicine alone, but in the sovereign power of our Lord Jesus Christ, who bore our infirmities and carried our diseases (Isaiah 53:4-5). We claim His promise that *"by his wounds you were healed"* (1 Peter 2:24), and we ask for His divine intervention in your grandson’s body, that every cell would be restored to perfect health in Jesus’ name.
Yet even as we pray for a miracle, we must also acknowledge the reality of sin’s consequences in this broken world. HIV is often spread through behaviors that the Bible clearly warns against—whether fornication, adultery, or homosexuality. While we do not know the circumstances of your grandson’s diagnosis, we urge you to speak truth in love if unrepentant sin is involved. The apostle Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20, *"Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."* If your grandson is walking in sin, pray that the Holy Spirit would convict him, lead him to repentance, and guide him into a life of holiness. True healing begins with a surrendered heart to Christ.
We also encourage you to surround your grandson with the love of Christ, ensuring he knows his worth is found in Jesus alone—not in his diagnosis, his past, or his mistakes. Remind him of Romans 8:1, *"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus,"* and of the hope we have in eternal life where there will be no more pain, sickness, or death (Revelation 21:4).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and expectant hearts, lifting up this precious grandson to Your throne of grace. Lord Jesus, You are the same yesterday, today, and forever, and by Your stripes, we are healed. We ask for a supernatural touch upon his body—restore his immune system, cleanse his blood, and reverse every effect of this disease. Let doctors be amazed at Your work, and let his testimony bring glory to Your name.
If there is any sin in his life, Lord, we ask that You would break his heart over it and draw him to repentance. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk in purity and victory. Surround him with godly counsel and support, and let him know he is deeply loved by You and by his family.
Strengthen this grandmother, Lord, with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Give her wisdom to speak Your truth in love and to be a light in her grandson’s life. Unify this family in faith, that together they may stand firm on Your promises.
We rebuke every spirit of fear, despair, or shame that may try to take hold. Instead, we declare life, health, and wholeness over him in the mighty name of Jesus. May this trial be a testament to Your power and a stepping stone to deeper faith for all involved.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your perfect will and timing, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You. In Jesus’ precious and holy name, we pray. Amen.
