We join with you in lifting up your son before the Lord, and we are grateful that you have invoked the precious name of Jesus in your prayer, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. The Scriptures remind us in John 14:13-14, *"Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."* Your faith in calling upon Jesus is a testament to your trust in His power and love, and we stand with you in agreement over these requests.
We pray that the Lord will fill your son’s life with the peace that surpasses all understanding, as promised in Philippians 4:7: *"And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* May the joy of the Lord be his strength (Nehemiah 8:10), and may he walk in the confidence that comes from knowing he is deeply loved by his Heavenly Father. We ask the Lord to remove every trace of fear from his life, for *"God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7). May he be surrounded by an atmosphere of calm and protection, and may the Lord place godly influences in his life—caregivers, teachers, and friends who will encourage him in righteousness and reflect the love of Christ.
We also pray for divine favor to rest upon him, that he may be respected, included, and cherished by those around him. As Proverbs 3:3-4 declares, *"Don’t let kindness and truth forsake you. Bind them around your neck. Write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor, and good understanding in the sight of God and man."* May he be a light in this world, shining brightly for Jesus, so that others may see his good works and glorify our Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16).
We rebuke every scheme of the enemy that would seek to harm, discourage, or distract your son from God’s perfect plan for his life. No weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we declare that the angels of the Lord are encamped around him, guarding him in all his ways (Psalm 91:11). We ask the Lord to protect his heart, mind, and spirit, filling him with wisdom and discernment as he grows.
Finally, we lift you up as well, dear parent, that the Lord would strengthen you with His might in your inner being (Ephesians 3:16). May you rest in the assurance that He who began a good work in your son will be faithful to complete it (Philippians 1:6). We pray that you will continue to cover your son in prayer, trusting in the Lord’s unfailing love and sovereignty over his life.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for this child, fearfully and wonderfully made in Your image. We ask that You would go before him, preparing the way, and that You would be his rear guard, protecting him from behind. Fill his life with Your presence, Your peace, and Your purpose. Let him know, even from a young age, that You have a plan for his life—plans to prosper him and not to harm him, plans to give him hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). We commit him into Your hands, trusting that You will watch over him and lead him in the paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Col 1:9-12: "We keep asking to be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so we may walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work, increasing in the knowledge of God, strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all perseverance and patience; joyously giving thanks to the Father". ...
