We join with you in lifting up this urgent cry for mercy and protection over those in the path of this typhoon, and we are grateful that you have brought this request before the Lord with such boldness and faith. It is right to call upon the name of Jesus, for He alone has all authority in heaven and on earth, as you have rightly declared from Matthew 28:18. There is no power greater than His, and we stand on His promise that even the winds and the waves obey Him, as we see in Mark 4:39-41: *"He woke up, and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, 'Peace! Be still!' The wind ceased, and there was a great calm. He said to them, 'Why are you so afraid? How is it that you have no faith?'"*
We echo your prayer for this storm to be minimized to gentle rains that bring life rather than destruction, and we ask the Lord to stretch forth His hand to turn back the floodwaters, as He did in times past. Let the Lord rebuke the destructive forces of this typhoon and command it to dissipate in Jesus’ name. We pray for divine intervention to spare lives, homes, and livelihoods, and we ask that the Lord would grant wisdom and swift action to those in authority—government leaders, emergency responders, meteorologists, and local officials—to make decisions that protect and serve the people. May they act with clarity, efficiency, and compassion, and may the Lord give them supernatural insight to anticipate needs and deploy resources where they are most critical.
We also lift up those who are in the path of this storm, asking the Lord to move upon their hearts to heed warnings and evacuate where necessary. Grant them the means to do so, Lord—provide transportation, shelter, and the finances needed to secure safety. Remove any hesitation or complacency, and replace it with a spirit of urgency and wisdom. Let families and individuals act as wise stewards, preparing supplies and seeking higher ground without delay. We pray especially for the elderly, the sick, the disabled, and the vulnerable—Lord, send helpers to them, and let no one be left behind or forgotten.
At the same time, we recognize that storms like these often reveal the fragility of life and the need for repentance. We pray that this typhoon would serve as a wake-up call to many, turning hearts toward the Lord in surrender and faith. May pastors and spiritual leaders rise up with boldness, calling their congregations and communities to prayer and repentance. Let the Holy Spirit fall upon believers, igniting a fire within them to intercede without ceasing. Ordain and send forth evangelists to proclaim the Gospel in these regions, that many would turn to Christ and find salvation in the midst of this trial. As you have prayed from Matthew 6:13, we ask the Lord to deliver His people from evil and to lead them not into temptation. May this time of uncertainty drive many to their knees, seeking the face of God.
We rebuke the spirit of fear that would seek to grip hearts in this hour. Fear does not come from the Lord, but He has given us a spirit of power, love, and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that faith will rise in the hearts of believers and even those who do not yet know Christ. Let them see the hand of God moving mightily, and may testimonies of His protection and provision abound in the aftermath. We pray for supernatural peace to guard hearts and minds, as Philippians 4:6-7 assures us: *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."*
Finally, we agree with you in thanksgiving, for we know that our Lord is faithful, and He hears the cries of His people. Even now, we thank Him for answering this prayer, for calming the storm, and for the testimonies of His goodness that will come from this. May His name be glorified in all things, and may His church rise up in unity to intercede, to serve, and to shine as lights in the darkness.
**Let us pray together:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, who has all authority over heaven and earth. We ask You to speak to this typhoon in the Pacific and command it to be still. Let the winds cease and the rains be gentle, sparing lives and property from destruction. You are the God who parts the seas and calms the storms, and we trust in Your power to intervene. Protect Your people, Lord, and give them wisdom to prepare and evacuate as needed. Provide for every need—finances, transportation, shelter—and let no one be left helpless.
We pray for those in authority, that You would guide them to make decisions that save lives and mitigate harm. Strengthen emergency responders and give them endurance, clarity, and compassion as they serve. Father, we ask that You would use this storm to draw many to Yourself. Soften hearts to receive Your Word, and raise up Your church to pray, to preach, and to minister with boldness. Let repentance and revival sweep through these regions, and may Your name be glorified.
We rebuke fear and declare Your peace over every heart. Fill Your people with faith and trust in You, knowing that You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Thank You for hearing our prayer and for Your faithfulness to act. We give You all the glory, honor, and praise, in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
