Mindset adjustment needed

Naliogate

Beloved of All
For an in deference of my own wants or desires, to pray for these things but better yet ask that God's will be done.

We understand the struggle of surrendering our own desires to the Lord, for it is a daily battle to lay down our will and embrace His perfect plan instead. The heart that seeks God’s will above all else is one that walks in true wisdom and humility. Scripture reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* This is not a call to passive resignation but to active trust—believing that God’s ways are higher, His thoughts deeper, and His love more perfect than we can imagine (Isaiah 55:8-9).

Yet even Jesus, in His humanity, prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane, *"Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done"* (Luke 22:42). If our Savior, who was without sin, found it necessary to submit His will to the Father, how much more should we? The adjustment of mindset you seek is not the suppression of godly desires but the alignment of them under His lordship. As James 4:3 warns, *"You ask, and don’t receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures."* Our prayers must be purified by the fire of His will, not the fleeting embers of self.

Let us also remember the words of the apostle Paul, who learned the secret of contentment in every circumstance: *"I know how to be humbled, and I know also how to abound. In everything and in all things I have learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in need. I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me"* (Philippians 4:12-13). Contentment is not found in the fulfillment of our desires but in the sufficiency of Christ Himself.

We must ask ourselves: Are our desires rooted in selfish ambition, or do they reflect a heart that longs for God’s glory? Do we pray with open hands, ready to receive—or release—what He deems best? The adjustment you seek begins with repentance for the times we’ve clung to our own plans, followed by a deliberate choice to surrender each desire at the foot of the cross.

Let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious soul before You, acknowledging the struggle to release personal wants and embrace Your perfect will. Lord, You see the depths of the heart—the longings, the fears, the hopes—and You alone know what is best. We ask that You would transform this mindset, replacing self-reliance with Christ-reliance, and selfish ambition with a passion for Your kingdom. Teach us to pray as Jesus did, with surrender and trust, knowing that Your plans are for our good and Your glory. Break the chains of stubbornness or fear that keep us from fully yielding to You. Fill us with Your Spirit, that we may walk in step with Your purposes, even when they differ from our own. May our greatest desire be to see Your will done on earth as it is in heaven. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Lord, who gave Himself entirely for us. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to meditate on Romans 12:1-2: *"Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service. Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God."* The renewal of the mind is a daily process, one that requires immersion in His Word and a heart postured in worship. Keep seeking Him, and He will faithfully reshape your desires to mirror His own.

We're right there with you, seeking to align our hearts with God's will. It's tough, isn't it? We want to pray for our desires, but we also want to ensure they're in line with His perfect plan. Let's remember that God sees our hearts, our deepest longings and fears. He knows what's best for us, even when we don't fully understand.

Let's pray together, shall we?

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up our hearts and our desires. We acknowledge that sometimes, our wants can be selfish, and we need Your help to realign them with Your will. Help us to trust in You, to surrender our plans and our will to Yours, just as Jesus did in the Garden of Gethsemane.

Lord, we ask that You would transform our minds, filling us with Your Spirit. Help us to see things from Your perspective, to understand that Your ways are higher than our ways, and Your thoughts higher than our thoughts. Give us the strength to let go of our own plans and embrace Yours, even when we don't fully understand them.

Help us to pray like Jesus did, with surrender and trust. Help us to ask, not with wrong motives, but with hearts open to receive whatever You deem best. Fill us with Your peace, that we may rest in Your love, knowing that You are working all things together for our good and Your glory.

In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for allowing us the sacred opportunity to lift your heart before the Lord as you seek His will above your own. It has been our joy to stand alongside you in prayer, asking God to align your desires with His perfect purpose and to grant you the grace to surrender fully to His leading. We know this is not always an easy posture to take, yet we are encouraged by your humility and trust in the One who sees all and knows what is best for His children.

As a few days have passed since you first shared this request, we want to gently check in with you. Has the Lord been speaking to your heart in this season? Have you sensed a shift in your perspective, a newfound peace, or perhaps even a clearer understanding of His will for this situation? If so, we would love for you to share a praise report with us—your testimony could be the very encouragement someone else needs to surrender their own struggles to Him.

If you’re still waiting for clarity or wrestling with surrender, we want you to know we are here to continue praying with you. This is not a one-time request in our eyes, but a journey we are committed to walking with you in faith. Please don’t hesitate to share an update or repost your request so we can persist in agreement, asking the Lord to renew your mind and fill you with His peace that surpasses all understanding.

May you be strengthened today by the truth that God is not distant in this process—He is near, shaping your heart and refining your faith. We are praying that as you seek Him, you will experience the deep assurance that His will is good, pleasing, and perfect for your life. Let us keep pressing in together, trusting that He who began this work in you will carry it on to completion.

In Jesus Name.
