[Articles]

We join with you in bringing this burden for our nation before the throne of grace and we hear your cry for God to move mightily in the 2026 midterm elections.

We share your desire to see righteousness and truth prevail in our land. While we pray for a great turnout and for every citizen to exercise the stewardship of voting, we remember that our ultimate hope is not in a party or color but in the Lord Himself who establishes all authority. As it is written, Blessed is the nation whose God is Yahweh, the people whom he has chosen for his own inheritance Psalm 33:12. And also, Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people Proverbs 14:34.

We believe God calls us to pray for our leaders and for our nation to be governed in a way that honors Him. We are exhorted, I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence 1 Timothy 2:1-2. We also remember that there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are ordained by God Romans 13:1, and that He changes the times and the seasons. He removes kings and sets up kings Daniel 2:21.

So together we pray.

Father God, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You and lift up this nation and the coming 2026 midterm elections to You. We ask for Your mercy and Your will to be done in America as it is in heaven. We pray that You would stir the hearts of millions of citizens who love You and love this nation to rise up and vote according to biblical values, for life, for family, for truth, for justice and for freedom. Remove every hindrance, confusion and obstacle that would keep them from the polls, and let the process be peaceful, honest and protected from all fraud, manipulation and lawlessness. Raise up godly men and women of integrity to lead, for when the righteous thrive, the people rejoice Proverbs 29:2. We pray that America would turn back to You with humble hearts, for You have promised if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land 2 Chronicles 7:14. Let this nation be one that puts You first, that honors Your word and seeks Your righteousness above all else. We trust Your sovereign hand over every outcome and we ask that You would grant us leaders who will govern with wisdom and fear of the Lord. We thank You that we can come boldly through Jesus Christ our Lord, for there is no other name by which we are saved and by which we have access to You.

We encourage you to keep praying without ceasing as you have asked, trusting that God hears the prayers of His people and answers according to His perfect wisdom and timing. We will continue to stand with you in prayer for a great awakening in this land and for God's purposes to prevail in every election.

We hear how deeply you care about the nation and about the 2026 midterms. You want to see Americans show up at the polls in large numbers, and you are bringing that desire to the Father persistently, which we appreciate.

Prayer at its heart is conversation with God where we express our dependence on Him and trust Him with what we cannot control. That includes big national matters as well as personal ones. We can keep bringing our strong hopes to Him honestly while also asking that His will be done and resting in His wisdom over the outcome.

As you keep praying as you feel led, it can help to pair prayer with steady, peaceful action right where you are. Encouraging friends and family to be registered, sharing accurate information about when and where to vote, offering a ride to the polls if someone needs it, and keeping conversations respectful are simple ways to support the participation you are praying for.

Father, we lift the coming elections to You. We ask for peace and safety in our communities, for integrity and order at the polls, and that anyone who desires to vote would be able to do so without hindrance. Grant wisdom to voters and to those who will serve, and let Your good will be done in this nation. We pray this in Jesus' name, amen.

[Spurgeon]

We have heard your earnest cry concerning the coming elections in 2026 and we join you in bringing this burden before the throne of grace.

There is no attribute of God more comforting to His children than the doctrine of Divine Sovereignty. Under the most adverse circumstances, in the most severe troubles, we believe that Sovereignty hath ordained our afflictions, that Sovereignty overrules them, and that Sovereignty will sanctify them all. The Lord reigns, let the people tremble. It is this truth that must steady us when our hearts are moved with great concern for our nation. Sovereignty displays itself in all the affairs of men, in the distribution of gifts and honours, and in the raising up and putting down of rulers. We are bound to leave our affairs in God's hands, and then, instead of being idlers and loiterers, we are to go and work in His vineyard as long as it is called today.

Your desire to see many citizens take part lawfully and peaceably in the choosing of those who govern is a right and sober desire. To pray that men and women would fulfill their civic duty with honesty, with a love for truth and justice and for what is good for their neighbors, is pleasing to God. And to pray that nothing unjust would hinder any lawful voter from casting his vote, and that the polls would be kept free from deceit and confusion, is to pray for that which God loves, for He delights in truth and righteousness in the gates.

Yet we would gently remind you, as we remind our own souls, that our deepest trust must not be in a flood of votes of any color, nor in princes nor in parties, but in the blood of Jesus Christ. It would be cheap faith to take Christ as only a helper for our earthly causes, but it is the faith of God's elect to take Him as the sinner's Savior. If we can say, I got my hope straight from the throne of God by trusting in the blood of Jesus Christ, then we have received it from Headquarters and there can be no mistake about it. Have you not found that the very anxiety which arises through being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. You have nothing to do with the outcome, dear friend, that is His business and God's. You go and do the right thing and then be no longer anxious about it, but leave the result with God.

Therefore we will pray with you, and we encourage you to keep praying, not as though we would compel the Sovereign to our will, but as those who submit our will to His perfect wisdom, believing that where God begins a work He does not ask us to finish, He always completes His own work.

Let us pray together.

O Lord our God, Thou who reignest over all the earth, we come to Thee through the blood of Thy dear Son, our only Savior, for there is salvation in no other. We thank Thee that Thou sittest upon the throne and doest according to Thy will among the inhabitants of the earth. We ask Thee to grant to this nation peace, truthfulness, and justice. Move upon the hearts of Thy people to act as good citizens, to pray, to speak truth, and to vote according to conscience before Thee. Restrain all fraud, violence, and hindrance, and let what is done be done openly and honestly. Above all, grant us rulers who will fear Thee and seek righteousness, and grant to Thy church a revival of true godliness, that whatever the outcome at the polls, Thy name may be hallowed and Thy kingdom advanced. We leave the result in Thy sovereign hands, trusting not in man but in Thee alone. In Jesus' name we ask it, Amen.

Continue in prayer, and may the Lord keep you trusting and not fearing, for he that trusteth in the Lord shall not be afraid.
