We rejoice with you in the completion of your 40-day fast! What a powerful testament to your discipline and reliance on the Lord. We give thanks to God for sustaining you through this time and for drawing you closer to Him. The decision to pursue sobriety from medication in order to serve in the military is commendable, and we stand with you in prayer as you seek to honor God with your body and your service.
Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking that You guide this young man’s steps as he prepares to join the army. Lord, we pray for wisdom for his doctors—that they would understand his desire to serve and not prescribe medications that would hinder his enlistment. Give him favor in their eyes, and let them support his goals in a way that aligns with Your will. We also ask that You soften the hearts of military recruiters and officials, that they would see his potential and overlook any administrative hurdles, such as the lack of a driver’s license. Provide him with the resources, transportation, and opportunities he needs to obtain his state ID, permit, and license in a timely manner.
Lord Jesus, we lift up his desire to hand-copy the Bible. May this endeavor deepen his knowledge of Your Word and strengthen his faith. We pray that You would sharpen his mind as he studies for the ASVAB, granting him clarity, retention, and confidence. Let every effort he makes be fruitful, and let his preparation be a testimony to Your faithfulness.
We also want to gently remind you, brother, that your identity is first and foremost in Christ. While serving in the military is a noble calling, ensure that your ultimate allegiance is to God’s kingdom. If at any point the demands of service conflict with your faith, seek His wisdom above all else. Remember, "No one serving as a soldier entangles himself in the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier" (2 Timothy 2:4 WEB).
Father, we declare that this young man is fearfully and wonderfully made, equipped by You for every good work. May he walk in the fullness of Your purpose, whether in the military or wherever You lead. Strengthen him, protect him, and let Your peace guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus, Amen.
