Disciple of Prayer
Dear Lord I deserve to be punished because I was wrong yesterday but as you had mercy on David please have mercy on me. I know he still paid a price I don’t know what you will ask of me dear Lord but if You would hide me Lord I repent of my carelessness and if you would help me I will never look back or take your mercy for granted. When I am baptised I will tell them it was because none had ever shown such mercy or level the mountain for me in this way Help me Father for without You I will surely perish. I wait for you quietly until ### Have mercy upon me Lord.

We hear your cry for mercy, and we join with you in seeking the Lord’s forgiveness and grace. Your humility before God is evident, and we recognize the sincerity of your repentance. The Lord is indeed merciful, as He was with David after his sin with Bathsheba and his arrangement of Uriah’s death. David’s prayer in Psalm 51:1-2 reflects the same heart you have now: *"Have mercy on me, God, according to your loving kindness. According to the multitude of your tender mercies, blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity. Cleanse me from my sin."* Like David, you are acknowledging your need for God’s cleansing, and that is the first step toward restoration.

We must also acknowledge that while God’s mercy is boundless, sin still carries consequences. David’s life was marked by sorrow after his sin—his child died, his family was divided, and his kingdom faced turmoil. Yet even in the midst of discipline, God’s mercy was present. Hebrews 12:6 reminds us, *"For whom the Lord loves, he disciplines, and chastises every son whom he receives."* If the Lord is calling you to bear a consequence for your carelessness, do not despise His discipline, for it is a sign of His love and desire to refine you.

Your commitment to repentance and to never take His mercy for granted is commendable. True repentance involves turning away from sin and walking in obedience. As you prepare for baptism, remember that it is not merely a symbolic act but a public declaration of your faith in Jesus Christ and your desire to live for Him. Romans 6:4 says, *"We were buried therefore with him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life."* Baptism is a beautiful testimony of God’s mercy and your decision to follow Him wholeheartedly.

We must also address the importance of salvation through Jesus Christ alone. You have not explicitly mentioned His name in your prayer, but it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Acts 4:12 declares, *"There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). If you have not already, we encourage you to place your faith fully in Jesus Christ, trusting in His sacrifice on the cross for the forgiveness of your sins. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9).

Now, let us lift you up in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for Your mercy and grace. Lord, we thank You for the sincerity of this brother’s repentance and his desire to walk in Your ways. We ask that You would indeed have mercy on him, just as You had mercy on David. Wash him clean, Lord, and renew a right spirit within him. Help him to fully grasp the depth of Your love and the sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who bore the punishment for his sins on the cross.

Father, we pray that You would guide him as he prepares for baptism. May this act be a powerful testimony of Your transformative work in his life. Strengthen him to walk in newness of life, turning away from sin and pursuing righteousness. If there are consequences for his actions, give him the grace to accept Your discipline with humility, knowing that it comes from Your love.

Lord, we also pray that You would draw him closer to You. Help him to wait quietly on You, trusting in Your timing and Your plans. Protect him from the schemes of the enemy and fill him with Your peace. May he never forget the mercy You have shown him and may his life be a living testimony of Your grace.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord through prayer, reading His Word, and fellowship with other believers. Surround yourself with godly men and women who can support and encourage you in your walk with Christ. Remember, the Lord is faithful, and He will complete the work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2).

We're here with you, brother, echoing your heartfelt plea for mercy. We're moved by your humility and sincere repentance. Like David, you've acknowledged your wrongdoing and seek God's cleansing. That's the first step towards restoration, and we praise God for it.

We understand that you're uncertain about the consequences of your actions, but remember, even when God disciplines, it's an expression of His love (Hebrews 12:6). Trust that He knows what's best for you and that His plans are always for your good (Jeremiah 29:11).

As you prepare for baptism, we're excited for you. It's a beautiful public declaration of your faith and commitment to follow Jesus. But remember, baptism is just the beginning. It's about a new life in Christ, turning away from sin and walking in obedience (Romans 6:4).

And yes, Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). If you haven't already, place your faith fully in Him. Trust in His sacrifice on the cross for the forgiveness of your sins.

Now, let's lift you up in prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your unfailing mercy and grace. We thank You for this brother's repentant heart and his desire to walk in Your ways. Have mercy on him, Lord, just as You had mercy on David. Wash him clean and renew a right spirit within him. Help him to grasp the depth of Your love and the sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ.

Father, guide him as he prepares for baptism. May this act be a powerful testimony of Your transformative work in his life. Strengthen him to walk in newness of life, turning away from sin and pursuing righteousness. If there are consequences, give him the grace to accept Your discipline with humility, knowing it comes from Your love.

Lord, draw him closer to You. Help him to wait quietly on You, trusting in Your timing and plans. Protect him from the schemes of the enemy and fill him with Your peace. May he never forget the mercy You've shown him and may his life be a living testimony of Your grace.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Keep seeking the Lord through prayer, reading His Word, and fellowship with other believers. Surround yourself with godly men and women who can support and encourage you in your walk with Christ. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2).
