We join you in thanking our Father for His daily mercies and faithfulness, for they are new every morning and great is His faithfulness Lam 3:23. We praise Him that His mercies never fail and that His compassions sustain us day by day as we walk with Him.

We stand with you in continuing to intercede for the salvation of your spouse, that she would come to full and authentic repentance that leads to life and to complete trust in Christ and be born again. We agree with you according to Rom 10:1 that your desire and prayer to God for her is that she may be saved, and we pray with you for your son that he would be saved and filled with the Holy Spirit, set apart from his earliest days as in Jer 1:5 and Lk 1:15, nourished in the Scriptures which are able to make him wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus 2 Tim 3:15, and brought up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord Eph 6:4. We pray also for your entire household that you and your family would believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved Acts 16:31, and for your extended families and friends that the Lord would have mercy and that none would perish but all would come to repentance 2 Pet 3:9. We pray that the word of the Lord may run and be glorified through your witness 2 Thes 3:1 and that you would see open doors for the Gospel which no one can shut Rev 3:8.

We affirm with you the sanctity of marriage as God ordained it, a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman, and we honor your faithful intercession for your wife. This is holy and pleasing to God who desires all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth 1 Tim 2:4. We encourage you to continue to love your wife as Christ loves the church, with patience, prayer, and a godly example, trusting the Lord to work in His timing while you remain steadfast in your covenant.

We also hear your heart to hold both things together by grace, to take hold of one without letting go of the other Ecc 7:18. We pray for wisdom and understanding that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding Col 1:9, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment Phil 1:9, so that you may learn to maintain good works to meet pressing needs Tit 3:14. We ask for grace to set things in order Tit 1:5 and to strengthen and complete what remains Rev 3:2, to care for the flock among you which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers of Acts 20:28, and to keep your focus on God, on yourself, and on your teaching that you may save both yourself and those who hear you 1 Tim 4:16.

We join you in asking for grace to shift your main focus to the new things God is doing, for behold He declares new things before they spring forth Isa 42:9, and He will make a way even where there seems to be no way Isa 43:19. We pray that He will favor you as with a shield Ps 5:12 and open doors for Bible studies, prayer meetings, and for the lost to hear the Gospel. We trust Him to fight for you while you remain still Ex 14:14 and to keep you running in such a way that you may win the prize 1 Cor 9:24, forgetting what lies behind and stretching forward to what lies ahead, pressing toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus Phil 3:13-14, laying aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and running with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the author and perfecter of faith Heb 12:1-2.

We thank the Lord that we have access to the Father only through Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved Acts 4:12, and we rejoice that you have asked in Jesus name, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me John 14:6. It is by His name we are heard.

We pray together now, Father in heaven, we thank You for Your steadfast love and daily faithfulness. We lift up this husband and father before Your throne of grace. Grant him grace to hold both intercession and duty, to not grow weary in praying for his wife and his son and his family, and also to be faithful in the pressing needs and new things You have set before him. Let Your Spirit guide him as a shepherd's voice that he knows and follows John 10:27, led by Your Spirit Rom 8:14, with wisdom generously given when he asks James 1:5. Open doors for Your Word to go forth, let Your favor surround him, and let his love abound with insight. Protect his household, let no evil befall them and no plague come near their dwelling Ps 91:10, keep them from temptation Lk 11:4, deliver them from evil Matt 6:13 and from evil men 2 Thes 3:2 and from the evil one himself John 17:15, that they may be kept blameless. Empower him to abide in Christ, to image You, and to make disciples as You have commanded. We ask this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and only hope, amen.

We hear the tension in your prayer, wanting to keep interceding faithfully for your spouse, your son and your wider family while also giving your full attention to the duties and new doors God is opening right now. Holding both without dropping either is hard, and we admire your desire to do it with grace.

We join you in thanking God for His daily mercies that make that possible. He sees your love for your family and your longing for them to know Him fully, and He also sees the pressing needs and opportunities in front of you today. It is good to bring both to Him and trust Him to help you steward each in its time.

One thing that has helped others in a similar place is to give each concern its own simple space. Perhaps keep a short, steady prayer list for your family that you lift up at a set time each day, and alongside it a brief list of two or three must do tasks for the present work. That way neither burden crowds out the other and you can be present where God has you.

Father, we thank You for Your faithful mercies to this family. We ask You to draw each one closer to Yourself, to guard and guide the young one, and to give wisdom, strength and open doors for the work ahead. Grant peace, protection from evil, and grace to walk faithfully day by day. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your petitions have been spread before the Lord and we make them our own before the throne of grace. We join you in thanking our faithful God that His mercies are new every morning and great is His faithfulness according to Lamentations 3:23.

We hear your heart after Romans 10:1, that your spouse might come to full and authentic repentance unto life and be regenerated by true faith in Christ, and that your son and your whole household might be saved. We do not cease to plead with you for this, for intercession for our fellow sinners is a most precious gift of God's grace and the main business of a praying people. It is God who writes intercession upon men's hearts, and He delights when we, like Elijah upon Carmel, cast ourselves down and cry until the heavens which seemed as brass drop with plenteous showers. Pursue them with persistent intercession, even as Christ Himself pleads within the veil, for when we pray for our fellow sinners we are in sympathy with our Divine Savior who made intercession for the transgressors.

We pray this in the only way of salvation that Scripture sets forth. Salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, by looking unto Him and believing on a Person, not a system or a ceremony. With the heart man believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Faith does not cause salvation, nor do hope or love or good works, they are things which accompany salvation as its guard of honor, but salvation itself is without money and without price, purchased not with silver and gold but with His precious blood, and offered freely to every poor guilty sinner who will look to Him and live. We ask that God would grant to your spouse and to your child that true looking, that unquestioning confidence which leaves the whole matter of present and eternal salvation in His hands, and that He would graciously fill and nourish them by His Word, that the little one may be brought up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord and taught to respect godly authority.

And we join you in that other prayer which you rightly hold together with the first, according to Ecclesiastes 7:18, to take hold of the one without letting go of the other. You ask for grace to continue in intercession and also to shift your focus to the new things which God declares before they spring forth, to meet pressing needs and to set things in order. This is wise and scriptural. Duties delayed are sins, and we are called to be fruitful in good works and to meet pressing needs as Titus 3:14 exhorts, to strengthen the things that remain and to finish each task which His hand has given you. We pray with you for wisdom and full knowledge of His will in all spiritual understanding, for love to abound with insight, for open doors for the Gospel which no man can shut, for favor as a shield, and for grace to care for the flock among you while abiding in His Word and making disciples of all He has commanded.

We ask the Lord to teach you to run so as to win, forgetting what lies behind and pressing toward the upward call in Christ, laying aside every encumbrance and looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of faith. In praying for temporal things we plead with measured voices, ever referring our petition to the will of the Lord, and we take comfort that the Holy Spirit Himself helps our infirmities and makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered when we know not how to pray as we ought. He will increase your faith, which is essential to prevailing prayer, and keep you near to the Shepherd who goes before His sheep and calls them by name.

May the Lord keep you from temptation and from evil, from evil people and from the evil one, and cause His Word to have free course and be glorified among you, in Bible studies and prayer meetings and in your witness to the lost. May He work while you keep still, and empower you to glorify Him and to image Him in all things. We commend your household to Him who is able to save to the uttermost, trusting that as you have believed on the Lord Jesus Christ you may rejoice with all your house in the God of your salvation.

We offer all these petitions in the name of Jesus Christ our only Savior, Amen.
