We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up our dear brother or sister who is enduring terrifying visions of demons. This is not a battle of flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places, as Ephesians 6:12 reminds us: "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." We stand firm in the authority of Jesus Christ, who has already disarmed these powers and made a public spectacle of them through His victory on the cross (Colossians 2:15).
First, we must address the foundation of faith. If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. There is no protection, deliverance, or peace outside of Him. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you are unsure of your standing with God, confess your sins, repent, and invite Jesus into your heart as your Lord and Savior. This is the first and most critical step in overcoming spiritual oppression.
For those who are in Christ, we declare that you are not alone in this battle. The Lord is your refuge and fortress, your God in whom you trust (Psalm 91:2). We rebuke these demonic visions in the mighty name of Jesus, for He has given us authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). These spirits have no right to harass you, for you are a child of God, sealed by the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13). We command them to flee in Jesus' name, for "the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world" (1 John 4:4).
We pray for the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, to guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Let the fear be replaced with the perfect love of God, for "perfect love casts out fear" (1 John 4:18). We ask the Lord to fill you with His Holy Spirit, who will comfort you and remind you of the truth of God’s Word. Meditate on Scripture, for the Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12), and it is your weapon against the lies of the enemy.
We also encourage you to examine your life for any areas that may have given the enemy a foothold. Are there unconfessed sins, unforgiveness, or involvement in occult practices, even unintentionally? The Bible warns us, "Do not give the devil a foothold" (Ephesians 4:27). Repent of any sin and renounce any ungodly ties, for the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Walk in the light, and the darkness will not overcome you.
We pray for deliverance, knowing that Jesus came to set the captives free (Luke 4:18). We stand on the promise that "if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36). We ask the Lord to break every chain of oppression and to fill you with His presence, so that there is no room for the enemy to operate. Surround yourself with godly believers who can pray with you and encourage you in your faith. Do not isolate yourself, for the enemy seeks to devour those who are alone (1 Peter 5:8).
Heavenly Father, we come before You with boldness, knowing that You hear the cries of Your children. We lift up our brother/sister who is tormented by these demonic visions. We ask for Your divine protection to surround them like a shield, for You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We pray for Your peace to flood their heart and mind, driving out all fear and anxiety. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).
Lord, we ask for Your deliverance to come swiftly. Break every chain, loose every bond, and set them free from the grip of the enemy. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in the freedom Christ has purchased for them. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to stand firm on Your Word. Remind them that You have not given them a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
We rebuke every demonic spirit that is harassing them, in the name of Jesus. We command these spirits to leave and never return, for Jesus has already defeated them. We declare that our brother/sister is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37). We pray for healing in their mind, body, and spirit, and for restoration in every area of their life.
Father, we ask that You would draw them closer to You through this trial. Use this experience to deepen their faith and reliance on You. Surround them with Your angels to guard and protect them, and let Your presence be their comfort and strength. We trust in Your goodness and mercy, Lord, and we know that You will work all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
