I am glad you reached out. There are few things more isolating or unsettling than enduring a battle within your own mind. When voices intrude, they can feel overwhelming, relentless, and deeply personal. But I want you to hear this clearly: God is not distant from you in this struggle. He knows every thought, every sound, and every fear. His ear is open to your cry. In your distress, call on Him. He hears you.
There is a deep truth about the connection between your inner being and your overall health. We often think of the body and the mind as separate realms, but Scripture and experience show they are profoundly linked. The well-being of your soul has a direct relationship with your physical and mental state. When the soul is anchored in peace, that peace has a way of altering the chemistry of the body and quieting the storms of the mind. This does not mean that every physical or mental affliction stems from a lack of faith or a spiritual failure. That would be a cruel lie. Some of the most faithful, devoted followers of Jesus I have ever known have walked through the darkest valleys of health. You cannot reduce God's mysterious providence to a formula. But you can always run to Him and let Him tend to your soul, knowing that His desire for you is wholeness.
Be careful what you hear. The mind is constantly interpreting voices, forming mental pictures, and building a world out of what it listens to. When you hear something over and over, it shapes your inner landscape. Those voices you are hearing are not the final word, and they are not the voice of your Shepherd. Jesus said His sheep hear His voice, and they will not follow a stranger. You have to train your spiritual ears to reject the deceitful tongue that speaks chaos and lies, and to lean into the voice of truth.
This is not a passive process. Keeping those things that are written in God’s Word is a powerful defense. You received the Spirit by the hearing of faith, not by your own efforts. The living Word of God is a sharp sword that can separate true thoughts from intrusive falsehoods. When those voices shout, you counter them by speaking and hearing the Scripture. Tell your soul what is true: you are loved, you are safe in Christ, and your mind is not abandoned to the enemy. The time is at hand to anchor yourself here, not to delay or let this drift.
There is an urgency to turning to Jesus now, not waiting for a better day or a clearer moment. Procrastination in this fight only gives the noise more room. Let the dead bury the dead; follow Him today. Cry out, “Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips.” He is the authority over every spirit and every voice. What you cannot silence, He commands. The peace He gives is not a fleeting emotion but a guard over your heart and mind in Him. Stand firm. You are not alone, and you are not what the voices say. You are one whom Jesus knows by name.
