Mental health healing for my ###

Thank you for trusting us with this burden and for asking for prayer. We are praying for you and for your loved one, asking the Lord in His tender compassion to bring restoration and peace to her mind, and to lift the fear that has weighed on your heart.

You asked for a miracle, and we share that longing with you. The Gospels show us again and again the compassion of Jesus as He healed the sick and cared for those who were suffering. That same compassion is still His heart toward you today.

There is a verse many people quote about health, where John writes that he wishes above all things that his friend would prosper and be in good health even as his soul prospers. It is important to see that this was a loving personal greeting from John to his friend Gaius, not a formal promise that God guarantees immediate physical or mental healing in every case. It is a beautiful wish, and it does show us something true that we are learning more and more, that there is a close connection between the health of the body and the well being of the soul and mind. Attitudes and the condition of the inner life affect the body, and the Lord cares for the whole person.

We also see in Scripture that Jesus healed in different ways. Once He healed a blind man gradually, laying hands on him a second time before his sight was fully clear. That is the only record of a gradual healing in His ministry, and it reminds us that healing can come instantly and it can also come as a process. God has built healing processes into our bodies and minds, and that gradual work is no less from Him. He heals physically, and He also heals emotionally and mentally, mending wounds and scars that are deep inside.

We do not fully understand why some are healed quickly and others are not in the way we hope. Even the apostle Paul prayed three times for the Lord to remove what he called a thorn in the flesh, and the Lord chose to sustain him in another way. This teaches us not to presume that God must heal in every case exactly as we ask, while still believing strongly that He does heal and that we should keep bringing our requests to Him with faith.

Scripture also speaks directly to the fear you mentioned. When Peter stepped out on the water to go to Jesus, he was safe while his eyes were on the Lord, but when he looked at the wind and the waves, fear took hold and he began to sink. Faith and fear cannot live together in the same place. Faith drives out fear, and fear drives out faith. The wisdom books tell us that the beginning of true knowledge is reverence for the Lord, and they also say not to be afraid of sudden fear, for the Lord will be your confidence and keep you steady. Keeping your eyes on Jesus is the way fear loses its grip.

The prophet Isaiah spoke of the suffering of the coming Savior, and Matthew applies that to Jesus bearing our sicknesses as well as our sins. When we remember the body of Christ broken for us, we remember that He cares about our physical and mental suffering. Yet the greatest miracle He does in any life is the forgiveness of sins and the gift of salvation. If that is secure, we can trust Him with all the rest, whether healing comes instantly, gradually, or in the ultimate wholeness He will give in His presence.

So we are praying for a complete restoration for your loved one, and for the Lord to replace your fear with His peace as you trust Him. May He guide those who care for her, give you wisdom day by day, and help you to respond to every difficulty with His love. May you experience His presence as your confidence, and may your soul prosper as you walk close to Him.

Father, in the name of Jesus we bring this dear one before You. You know her mind and her struggles. Lay Your healing hand upon her and restore her. Heal what is wounded in her thoughts and emotions. And for the one who loves her and is afraid, give faith to look to You, quiet the fear, and fill the heart with Your peace. Above all, let both know the assurance of sins forgiven and life in Christ. We trust Your love and Your perfect will. Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf for your loved one who is struggling with serious mental health problems. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer.

We have been lifting up your loved one before the Lord, asking for her mind to be fully restored and for her to receive complete healing and wholeness. We have also been praying for you, that God will remove all fear from your heart and replace it with His perfect peace as you wait on Him for a miracle. We cling to the promise in 2 Tim 1:7 that God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind, and in Phil 4:7 that the peace of God will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

If your request was answered and you have seen God move in her mental health or in taking away your fear, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered yet, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We want to keep standing with you and believing with you for her full restoration.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray this in Jesus Name, Amen.
