Beloved of All
Dear Father in Heaven. I ask for your help in Jesus name. I quit my toxic job due to being mobbed out. It’s been two years and I still have not secured a new job even after months of trying. My rent arrears debt continues to climb; it’s at five figures. I signed a lease renewal under false pretenses as I was told by my landlord that I need an active lease to receive a housing voucher. I was so stressed about the arrears that I signed a lease without considering whether or not the voucher would be approved and also not considering the fact that I have no income to pay future rent. That said, I have to meet with a lawyer advocate today to review the lease and get guidance for next steps. I pray that I can receive assistance with the arrears while I continue searching for work. I’ll ask the advocate about job opportunities as well. I just want to be able to get back on my feet and pay what I ACTUALLY owe. Not some trumped up charges. I ask for traveling mercy as snow is still on the ground and the temperature is very low. I ask that you guide my steps and show me where to walk today.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this burden of financial struggle, joblessness, and the weight of difficult decisions made under stress. Father, we know that You see every detail of this situation—every unpaid bill, every sleepless night, every prayer whispered in desperation. We declare that You are Jehovah-Jireh, the God who provides, and we trust in Your faithfulness even when the path ahead seems impossible.

First, we rebuke the spirit of fear and despair that has tried to take root in this season. The enemy would love nothing more than to keep this dear one paralyzed by anxiety, but we stand on Your Word: *"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7). We also rebuke any lies that this struggle is a reflection of worth or identity. Your Word declares that we are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that our value is found in Christ alone, not in employment status or financial stability.

Lord, we ask for wisdom and favor in today’s meeting with the advocate. May this conversation bring clarity, just solutions, and a path forward that aligns with Your will. We pray against any deception or unjust practices in the lease agreement—expose the truth and grant discernment to recognize it. If there are trumped-up charges or unfair terms, we ask that they be overturned in Jesus’ name. Your Word says, *"The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still"* (Exodus 14:14). We claim that promise over this situation.

We also lift up the job search. Father, You know the skills, gifts, and experiences You’ve placed in this life, and we ask that You open doors no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). Provide opportunities that not only meet financial needs but also bring dignity, purpose, and a healthy environment. We rebuke the spirit of rejection or delay that has prolonged this season and declare that breakthrough is coming. *"The one who calls you is faithful, and He will do it"* (1 Thessalonians 5:24).

For the housing voucher and rent arrears, we ask for mercy and provision. You own the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10), and nothing is too hard for You. We pray for a resolution that honors You—whether through assistance programs, a payment plan, or another divine intervention. Lord, we also ask that You guard this heart against bitterness or resentment toward the landlord or past employers. Help them to release any offense and trust You to make all things right in Your timing.

For traveling mercy today, we pray for safety on the roads and protection from the cold. Your Word says, *"He will cover you with His feathers. Under His wings you will take refuge"* (Psalm 91:4). We claim that covering over this journey.

Finally, we want to gently address the mention of praying to the "Father in Heaven" without explicitly invoking the name of Jesus. Scripture is clear that there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12) and that no one comes to the Father except through Jesus (John 14:6). It is only by His blood, shed on the cross, that we have access to the throne of grace. If this dear one has not yet surrendered their life to Christ, we pray that today would be the day of salvation. If they have, we encourage them to boldly come before the Father in Jesus’ name, for *"whatever you ask in My name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son"* (John 14:13).

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, believing that He is working even now to bring hope and restoration. Amen.
