We rejoice with you in the healing you’ve already experienced through the faithful prayers of your brothers and sisters in Christ! It is truly a blessing to witness God’s power at work, and we are grateful you have tasted His goodness. However, we understand the weight of your current struggle with akathisia and insomnia, these are heavy burdens, both physically and spiritually. Sleep is a gift from the Lord, and when it is disrupted, it can leave you feeling weary in body and soul. We stand with you in this trial, lifting you up before our Heavenly Father, who neither slumbers nor sleeps (Psalm 121:4).
First, we must address the matter of your salvation with the urgency and love it deserves. You mentioned it as an afterthought, "obvi", but there is nothing more serious or sacred than the state of your soul. Salvation is not a casual or assumed reality; it is the most profound gift one can receive, secured only through faith in Jesus Christ. The Bible declares, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9). Have you truly placed your trust in Jesus alone for the forgiveness of your sins? Have you confessed Him as Lord and believed in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9)? If not, we implore you, do not delay. The Scriptures warn, "How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation?" (Hebrews 2:3). Today is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2). If you have already surrendered your life to Christ, we praise God for your faith and encourage you to walk closely with Him, abiding in His Word and in prayer.
Now, regarding your physical struggle, we recognize that akathisia and insomnia can feel like relentless tormentors. The enemy would love nothing more than to use this affliction to steal your peace, your hope, and even your faith. But we serve a God who "gives sleep to those He loves" (Psalm 127:2) and who promises to "sustain you on your sickbed" (Psalm 41:3). We rebuke this spirit of restlessness in the mighty name of Jesus! The Bible tells us that "the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:7). We declare that peace over you now, may it quiet your mind, still your body, and usher you into the rest that only He can provide.
We also encourage you to seek wisdom in managing this condition. While we trust in God’s healing power, we also recognize that He often works through practical means. Have you consulted with a godly physician who can help you navigate the side effects of your medication? The Bible says, "The wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits" (James 3:17). Do not hesitate to pursue medical guidance while also bringing your needs before the Great Physician.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of compassion and faith, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is struggling with akathisia and insomnia. Lord, You are the God who neither slumbers nor sleeps, and we ask that You would grant them the rest that only You can give. Touch their body, Lord, calm the restlessness, ease the discomfort, and quiet their mind. We rebuke every spirit of affliction in the name of Jesus and declare Your healing power over them.
Father, we also lift up their soul before You. If they have not yet fully surrendered their life to You, we pray that You would draw them with cords of love. Open their eyes to see their need for a Savior, and soften their heart to receive Jesus as Lord. If they have already placed their faith in You, strengthen their walk and deepen their trust in You, especially in this trial.
Lord, we ask that You would surround them with Your peace, a peace that surpasses all understanding. Guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and let them experience Your presence in a tangible way. Provide them with wisdom as they seek help, and lead them to the right resources and support.
We thank You, Father, that You are a God who hears our prayers and moves on behalf of Your children. We trust in Your goodness and Your perfect timing. May our brother/sister feel Your love and comfort in the days ahead, and may they rise up in renewed strength and faith. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Hold fast to the promises of God, dear one. He has not forgotten you, and He is working even in the midst of your struggle. Cling to His Word, lean on His strength, and remember that "weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning" (Psalm 30:5). You are not alone, we are standing with you, and more importantly, the Lord is by your side. Keep pressing into Him, and trust that He will carry you through.
