Medical School and Final Exams

Hello everyone,

Thank you for all your prayers, for being on this platform, and for offering your prayers for our brothers and sisters in Christ who are struggling. Please if you can find it in your heart, keep ### in your prayers. ### is a second year university student entering final exams, with the hope of applying to medical school this year for the first time and writing the MCAT for the first time. ### struggles in exam taking, and oftentimes performs poorly on exams despite working hard. But the Lord has done miracles for ### - truly, miracles ### does not deserve. And so even though ### is so incapable, through the Lord's strength, ### is continuing to pursue medicine, trusting that the Lord Jesus Christ will use ### in His ways. However, despite all the Lord has done for ###, ### constantly feels inadequate. Like all the disciples, like Moses, like so many people in the Bible who God called and made qualified, ### has so much doubt of why God would call ### to this path (and if ### will even get in). ### trusts God, ### does, ### really does, but ### just doesn’t understand why ###? ### hasn’t even applied yet, but ### would like your prayers for ### if you find it in your heart. Jesus Christ is so good to ###, wherever He goes ### will go, and if it’s not medicine that’s okay. But Lord, ### is so unqualified, please give ### strength.

We lift up this dear brother or sister in Christ who is facing the pressures of final exams and the daunting journey toward medical school. It is evident that their heart is fully surrendered to the Lord, trusting in His strength even when their own feels insufficient. We rejoice in the miracles God has already performed in their life—miracles they acknowledge they do not deserve—and we stand in agreement with their faith that Christ will use them for His purposes, whether in medicine or another path He has prepared.

The feelings of inadequacy and doubt are not unfamiliar to those whom God calls. Moses questioned his ability to lead, Gideon saw himself as the least in his family, and even the disciples often struggled to understand their role in God’s plan. Yet, the Lord does not call the qualified—He qualifies the called. As it is written in 2 Corinthians 12:9, *"He has said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me."* This brother or sister’s reliance on Christ’s strength rather than their own is a testament to their faith, and we pray that the Lord continues to reveal His sufficiency in their weakness.

We also recognize the weight of academic pressure and the fear of failure. The enemy would love to use these anxieties to steal joy, peace, and confidence in God’s provision. But we rebuke that spirit of fear in the name of Jesus, for *"God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7). We pray that this dear one would not be overwhelmed by the demands of exams or the uncertainty of the future but would instead fix their eyes on Christ, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2).

For their upcoming exams and the MCAT, we ask the Lord to grant them clarity of mind, retention of knowledge, and wisdom beyond their own understanding. May He quiet their heart in moments of panic and remind them that their identity is not found in their performance but in Christ. As they prepare, we pray for discipline, focus, and rest—knowing that even Jesus withdrew to quiet places to pray and recharge (Luke 5:16).

Regarding their calling to medicine, we pray that the Lord would make His will unmistakably clear. If this is the path He has for them, we ask that He would open doors no one can shut and provide favor in their applications. If He has another plan, we pray for the courage to surrender their dreams to Him, trusting that His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9). Either way, we declare that their worth is not tied to acceptance letters or test scores but to the finished work of Christ on the cross.

We also encourage this dear one to surround themselves with godly community—fellow believers who can pray with them, study alongside them, and remind them of God’s faithfulness when doubt creeps in. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and we are honored to do so now.

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of this precious child of Yours. We thank You for the way You have already moved in their life and for the trust they place in You, even when they cannot see the way forward. Lord, we ask that You would go before them in these exams and in the medical school application process. Calm their anxious thoughts and replace them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind them that You have not given them a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind.

Father, we pray for supernatural strength and endurance as they study. Give them laser-like focus and the ability to retain what they have learned. When they feel weak, may they lean into Your strength. When they feel unqualified, may they remember that You have called them and will equip them. If medicine is Your will for their life, we ask that You would make a way where there seems to be no way. If You have another path, give them the grace to embrace it with joy, knowing that Your plans for them are good.

We rebuke the lies of the enemy that tell them they are not enough. We declare over them that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), that they are Your masterpiece created for good works (Ephesians 2:10), and that You will complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6). May they walk in the confidence of who they are in Christ—loved, chosen, and called for a purpose.

Lord, we also pray for their heart. Guard it against comparison, self-condemnation, or pride. Help them to fix their eyes on You, the giver of every good and perfect gift (James 1:17). May they find their rest in You alone, knowing that You are their provider, their peace, and their portion.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the One through whom we have access to You. It is by His blood that we are made righteous, and it is by His power that we can do all things (Philippians 4:13). Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer. We trust You to move in this situation according to Your perfect will. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We're here with you, dear one, as you navigate through these final exams and the uncertain path ahead. We feel your struggle, your doubts, and your fears, but we also see your faith and trust in the Lord. Like you, we don't understand why God would call someone like you, but we trust that He has a purpose and a plan.

We want you to know that you're not alone in these feelings. Many before you, even those in the Bible, have struggled with the same doubts and insecurities. But remember, God doesn't call the qualified; He qualifies the called. He sees your heart, your dedication, and your willingness to serve. He has already done miracles in your life, and we believe He will continue to do so.

As you face your exams, we pray for clarity of mind and wisdom beyond your own understanding. We ask that you would find rest in the Lord, trusting in His power and provision, even when you feel overwhelmed. We also pray for peace, that you would not be consumed by fear or anxiety, but would find comfort in the love and power of the Holy Spirit.

We stand with you in faith, believing that God will use you in His perfect timing and in His perfect way. Whether that's through medicine or another path, we trust that He has a plan for your life. And we're here to support you, to pray with you, and to remind you of God's faithfulness.

Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith. Trust in Him, and know that you are loved, chosen, and called for a purpose. You are not alone, and you are more than enough in His eyes. We're believing with you for breakthroughs, for open doors, and for the courage to embrace whatever path God has for you.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
