Me and my wife

We hear your heart, brother, and we stand with you in prayer before the throne of grace. Marriage is a sacred covenant, a reflection of Christ’s love for His church, and it grieves the Holy Spirit when it is strained. You are right, God is the only One who can restore what has been broken, and we believe He will do so as you both seek Him with humility and repentance.

First, we must address the foundation: salvation in Jesus Christ. If either of you has not surrendered your life to Him as Lord and Savior, that is the first step. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6 WEB). There is no true healing, no lasting peace, apart from Him. If you have not both confessed your sins and trusted in His finished work on the cross, we urge you to do so now. The Bible says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9 WEB). This is the starting point for every area of life, including your marriage.

Now, regarding your marriage, we must speak truth in love. The Bible is clear: "Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord... Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it" (Ephesians 5:22, 25 WEB). Marriage is a divine institution where the husband is called to sacrificial love and the wife to respectful submission, not as a hierarchy of worth, but as a holy order designed by God for flourishing. If either of you has strayed from these roles, repentance is needed. Have there been words spoken in anger? Unforgiveness harbored in the heart? Pride that refuses to yield? The Bible warns, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you" (Ephesians 4:31-32 WEB).

We also must ask: Have you both been faithful to one another in thought and deed? The marriage bed is to be held in honor, and any form of sexual immorality, whether lust, pornography, or unfaithfulness, defiles it. "Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers" (Hebrews 13:4 WEB). If there has been sin in this area, it must be confessed, repented of, and forsaken. God’s grace is sufficient to cleanse and restore, but only if we turn from sin.

We encourage you both to seek godly counsel, perhaps from a pastor or a mature Christian couple who can walk with you through this season. "Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety" (Proverbs 11:14 WEB). Do not isolate yourselves. The enemy wants to divide you, but God desires to unite you in His love.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this marriage to You. Lord, You are the Author of marriage, the One who joins a man and a woman together as one flesh. We ask that You would breathe new life into this union. Father, if there is any sin, unforgiveness, pride, lust, or unfaithfulness, we ask that You would reveal it and bring repentance. Cleanse them by the blood of Jesus and restore what has been broken.

Lord, teach this husband to love his wife as Christ loves the church, sacrificially, patiently, and without bitterness. Teach this wife to respect her husband, to submit to him as unto You, and to build him up with her words and actions. Father, soften their hearts toward one another. Let them see each other through Your eyes, with grace and compassion.

We declare that no weapon formed against this marriage will prosper, for You are their Defender. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Remind them that You are working all things together for their good, even in this trial. Give them the strength to persevere, the wisdom to seek You first, and the faith to believe that You will restore their marriage.

We pray for healing in their communication, for unity in their decisions, and for joy to replace sorrow. May their home be a place of worship, where Your presence dwells and Your Word is honored. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who reconciles us to You and to one another. Amen.

Brother, do not lose hope. The same God who raised Jesus from the dead is able to resurrect your marriage. Keep your eyes on Him, not on the circumstances. "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB). We are standing with you, believing for a testimony of restoration.

Thank you for reaching out so honestly. We can hear how sad and heavy your heart feels right now, and also how much you care about your wife and your marriage. That desire not to give up matters, and we want to stand with you in it.

When marriage feels strained, sharing what is really on our hearts can become the hardest part. It is easy without meaning to hide our true feelings or let hurt come out as blame, which only makes it harder for the other person to hear what we need. Much of what we communicate also comes through tone, expression and actions, not just words, so slowing down to really listen to each other can bring more understanding.

One small step that often helps is to set aside a calm, uninterrupted time this week to talk and listen together. You might each share honestly using I feel statements rather than you always, and take turns listening without interrupting, then pray together briefly, even if it is just a sentence, inviting God into the conversation. If you have a trusted pastor or mature couple you both respect, consider asking them to walk with you as well.

Father, we lift this husband and wife to You. You see their sadness and their hope to stay together. Comfort them, give them wisdom and gentle hearts toward each other, and guide their words and actions. Help them to keep seeking You and each other in love. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

May the Lord bless your relationship only continue in prayer faith and worship. Lord Yeshuas name. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your heavy request has been heard, and we have brought you and your wife before the Lord with much tenderness of heart. To feel so sad within your marriage and yet to say, I will not give up, is itself a mercy from God. That resolve not to depart is a good and holy thing, for marriage is not a mere contract to be broken when weariness comes, but a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, joined together by God, and what God has joined, He is able to keep.

You are right to say that God is the one who can fix this. There is no hope for any of us in ourselves. When we are wearied in the length of our way, we soon find how utterly powerless we are to rise from the grave of our own corruptions, and by our own deeds no flesh shall be justified. But there is hope for you in Him whom God has provided to be the Saviour of such as you. While the lamp holds out to burn, the vilest sinner may return, and while there is life there is hope. Do not say, There is no hope, but look to Christ on the cross, as the sinner's only hope. He is able to do what you cannot.

We are taught in Scripture of an everlasting covenant, and everlasting means lasting for ever. The Lord says, They shall not depart from me. This is the perseverance which God works in His people, not by the removal of temptation, but by the putting of His fear into the heart and by the abiding of His life within. If God has truly changed the heart, that change is radical and lasting. And as the marriage union between Christ and His people can never be dissolved, for He has never given a bill of divorce to those He has redeemed, so He delights to sustain and restore the marriage covenant on earth when His people seek Him. He who begat us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ is able to keep what He has joined.

There is abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. The Scripture says the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. His leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. When the Lord comes and dwells with His people, pardon and healing are one. He grants pardon when men are humbled. In the dust of self abasement is the place for hope. If you bow your head together and say from the heart, Lord, have mercy upon us, He will hear. High thoughts of God beget hope in the soul, and hope leads to confidence.

Therefore persevere in holiness and in love. Do not walk after your own devices, but walk together after the Lord. Confess your faults one to another, forgive as Christ has forgiven you, and pray together daily. Let no bitter root remain. Seek the healing leaves of Christ in His Word, in prayer, and in the fellowship of His people. Ask the Lord to put His fear in your hearts that you shall not depart from Him nor from one another.

We pray for you now, that the God of all grace would look upon you both in mercy, that He would heal your wounds, forgive your sins, soften what is hard, mend what is broken, and knit your hearts together again in love. May He give you a good hope of eternal life through believing in Jesus Christ, and may that hope sustain you in this present trouble. May He turn your sadness into joy, and make your marriage to show forth His faithfulness, that you may persevere to the end and glorify Him together. Amen.

Your prayer has been heard, and your sadness has not been overlooked. You have done well not to give up, for God is indeed the one who can bring healing where we cannot. Your desire to see your marriage restored is pleasing to Him, because marriage is honorable and precious in His sight, not a burden to be cast away but a covenant to be kept with love and faithfulness.

Do not lose heart, but persevere in prayer as the woman who kept asking until she received an answer. Even when we feel unworthy or sorrowful, perseverance makes the heart ready to receive grace. Continue to seek the Lord together, to hear His voice through His Word, for faith comes by hearing, and it is by that voice that He draws near and strengthens what is weak. Follow peace with one another and holiness, living faithfully within the covenant you have made, for this is how marriage is kept pure and guarded from harm.

We will pray for you both now. Father in heaven, look with mercy upon this husband and wife in their time of trouble. Comfort the sadness that weighs heavy on this heart and do not let hope fail. Grant to them reconciliation, patience, and a willingness to forgive and to bear with one another in love. Teach them to speak with kindness, to listen with humility, and to seek You first in all things. Heal what is broken, strengthen what is weak, and keep their covenant firm in Your grace, so that their home may reflect Your faithfulness. Through Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is our salvation and our peace, Amen.

Remain steadfast, keep praying together and for one another, and stay close to the teaching and fellowship of the church. God is near to those who call on Him with a sincere heart, and He will not abandon those who trust Him.
