Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your honest cry of help me has been heard, and I thank you for sharing it with such openness. The Lord hears even the few words spoken from a broken and heavy heart, and He draws near to those who are brokenhearted.

It is right and good that you grieve this desire. Longing to be married and to be a father is a good and honorable longing, for marriage is honorable and is ordained by God. To realize that this desire may not be fulfilled in the way you had hoped brings real sorrow, and that sorrow is not a failure of faith. You have shown faith even in your grief when you say you still love Him and still trust Him to care for you as He always has. That trust is precious to God.

You speak of accepting a calling to remain single, and of answering a higher calling from the Lord. Scripture teaches that both marriage and singleness are gifts from God, and each has its own purpose and honor. Marriage is not unholy, but it brings much occupation and care for this life. Singleness, when lived in purity and devotion, gives a special freedom to attend to the Lord without distraction and to give yourself more fully to prayer, to good works, and to serving others. If God is leading you in this way, it is not because you are less or because you are not worthy of marriage, but because He has a particular path for you to walk with Him and to bear fruit for Him. The value of that path is found not simply in remaining unmarried, but in how that freedom is used for His glory and for the good of others.

I also hear how deeply the words of your brother and your father have weighed on you. No man can declare what your future must be, and your worth is not decided by their opinions. Your calling and your identity are in Christ alone, who knows you fully and loves you completely. Men may speak from what they see, but God sees the heart and He alone directs your steps.

It is understandable that your heart is still broken even as you accept this path. Acceptance and grief can live together for a time. The Lord does not ask you to pretend the pain is not there. Bring that brokenness to Him daily, as you have done in this prayer. Ask Him to comfort you, to show you how to use the time and freedom He has given you, and to place you in deep fellowship with His people so that you are not alone. Serve, pray, and do good as God gives opportunity, for in that faithful living your singleness will bear much fruit.

May the Lord comfort your heart, strengthen your trust, and give you peace as you wait on Him. He has promised to care for His own, and He will not leave you without His presence or purpose. One day He will make all things clear, and until then He will walk with you each step. I pray that He will fill the ache you feel with His nearness, and that He will make your life a testimony of His grace and faithfulness.

Father, I lift this brother to You. You see his broken heart and You know his long desire. Comfort him with Your presence, remind him daily that You love him and care for him, and guide him in the calling You have given him. Keep him pure, keep him close to You, and use his life for Your glory and for the good of many. Give him hope and joy that does not fade, and help him to trust that Your plan for him is good. In the name of Jesus, amen.

Your honest cry of help me is itself a prayer God hears. You have not hidden your broken heart, and you have brought a deep disappointment into the open before Jesus, still telling Him you love Him and trust Him to take care of you. That kind of honesty matters to Him.

The grief you describe is real. Longing for marriage and to be a father is a good and natural desire, and when that desire goes unfulfilled year after year, especially when others have spoken words over you that you will never be married, the heartbreak can feel heavy and crushing. It can feel like a lifetime of sorrow carried inside. Jesus sees that kind of beaten down and burdened heart with compassion and tenderness. When He looked at the man weighed down by guilt and pain, He did not scold him, He said, son, your sins are forgiven. He lifts guilt and He lifts burdens. He does not add shame to your sorrow. He offers forgiveness, relief, and nearness when you simply come to Him as you are.

You spoke of accepting a calling to be single if that is His plan for you, even while your heart still hurts. That willingness reflects what it means to follow Jesus with full commitment. When Jesus called the fishermen, they left their nets, their work, and even family business to follow Him right away. James and John left their father in the boat to go after Jesus. Following Him sometimes means laying down even good dreams and saying, I will go where You lead and trust You with what I hoped would be. That surrender is costly, and it is right to grieve what you are laying down while you still choose to trust Him.

It helps to remember what Jesus taught about marriage itself. Marriage is God's design where two become one, a beautiful picture of unity that reflects something of God's own nature as one. Yet Jesus also said that when the dead rise, people will neither marry nor be given in marriage, but will be like the angels in heaven. Marriage belongs to this life. It is not the final or highest fulfillment of who we are. In the resurrection, our deepest belonging and joy will be in being with the Lord Himself, fully known and fully loved. That does not make your present ache small, but it does put it in the light of eternity, where God Himself will be the fullness of what every heart has longed for, and where He will make all things clear that we cannot understand now.

Jesus also continually calls His people to turn to Him, to repent and keep turning and changing in His direction. That call is not a harsh demand, but an invitation to keep bringing your heart back to Him, to let Him shape your trust day by day, even through disappointment. You are already doing that as you say, I still love You, I still trust You, I accept Your leading.

He has cared for you up to now and He will continue to care for you. He keeps His promises, and He affirms that there is a resurrection and a life to come where every tear and every unanswered question will be met by His presence. It is right to believe that one day He will explain what you cannot see now.

May the Lord give you His peace as you walk this path, comfort your heart in its brokenness, strengthen you to follow Him fully, and keep you in the assurance that you are forgiven, loved, and held by Him.
