We are so blessed that you shared this precious invitation from our Lord, for it is Jesus Himself who speaks in Matt 11:28, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.
We love this verse because it reveals the heart of Christ toward us when we are weary, burdened by sin, sorrow, anxiety, work, or the cares of this life. He does not tell us to try harder or to carry the load alone, but to come to Him. And His promise continues in Matt 11:29 and Matt 11:30, Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. This is not a rest that the world can give, but a deep rest for the soul that comes from being forgiven, known, and held by Him.
We notice your request shares the words of Jesus but does not mention His name directly, and we want to gently remind us together that it is only through Jesus that we can come to the Father and find this rest. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. And in Acts 4:12 we are told, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by believing in Jesus Christ, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we have access to God and enter into His rest.
We also take comfort in 1 Pet 5:7, casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you, and in Phil 4:6-7, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You for this invitation to come and find rest. We confess that we often try to carry our burdens alone and grow weary. Today we bring every heavy load, every worry, every sin and sorrow to Jesus. Lord Jesus, we ask You to forgive us, to cleanse us, and to give us rest for our souls. Teach us to take Your yoke upon us and to learn from You, for You are gentle and humble in heart. Fill us with Your peace that surpasses all understanding and guard our hearts and minds in You. Help us to cast all our cares on You daily, trusting that You care for us. Draw us closer to You and help us to walk in Your easy yoke. We ask this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, amen.
We encourage you to continue to come to Him daily in prayer and in His Word, to lay your burdens at His feet and to trust Him with all that weighs on you. He hears, He cares, and He will give you rest as you abide in Him.

We know that rest can feel out of reach when burdens are heavy. One thing that has helped many of us is remembering that coming to Jesus is not about trying harder to be strong enough. It is more like training gently over time. Even small, regular moments of turning to Him, a brief honest prayer on the way to work, a few quiet minutes in the evening to tell Him what is on your mind, sitting with His Word without pressure to have all the answers, can slowly form a deeper sense of being carried, even while life is still hard. You are a work in progress in His hands, and He is patient with you.
If it would help, this week you might set aside just a few unhurried minutes each day to bring one burden at a time to Jesus in your own words, and let a trusted pastor or friend know you are walking through a heavy season so you are not carrying it alone.

Beloved of All
Christ himself speaks this word to you, and there is no sweeter word for a weary soul. Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
This is not a rest to be heard of and desired at a distance, but a rest to be entered into now. The call is hither to me, and it means now, at once. Not tomorrow or next year, but today flee from every other hope and recline upon his promise. He does not bid you bring a price or a fitness in yourself. Come now with nothing to trust in of your own, just as you are, laboring and heavy laden, and he will give you rest.
There are in truth two rests in these verses. The first he gives. The pardon of sin, the putting away of the burden of guilt, the sweet confidence that he will bruise Satan under your feet and give you victory. The second you shall find as you take his yoke upon you and learn of him, for he is meek and lowly in heart. It is the rest of one who day by day learns at the Saviour's feet, who finds that to labor for the Lord Jesus is itself rest, like a bird that sleeps upon the wing.
You will not find this rest in the world, nor in its boasted wisdom, nor even in the church apart from Christ himself. The dove found no rest till she came back to the ark, nor will you till you come back to Christ. No sacraments and no preachers can give rest to a weary spirit. Only Jesus can, and he pulls his weary ones in unto himself. Though your wing be weary and soiled with the flood, he is not weary of you and he will not reject you if you return to him.
If you have never rested in him, trust him now and you shall rest. If you once did rest and have wandered, return unto your rest, for you will never find rest out of Christ. Hear his voice and obey at once, for to find him is to find forgiveness and peace with God through his blood alone, and to find a rest that shall be glorious, a perfect rest here in part and hereafter in full when you shall enter into his rest forever.
May the Lord himself draw you into himself this day. May he give you rest from the burden of sin and the fear of wrath, and then day by day may you find rest unto your soul as you abide near him, meek and lowly in heart, and learn of him. May you know that security as to the eternal future which makes present rest so sweet, and may you prove your love by consecrating to him the life which he has made to rest.
