Praise God!!!
Our baby girl ### has arrived on November 24, 2011 at 14h15. She weighed approx. 3.2 Kg. The mom and the baby are doing very well!
Thank you for all your prayers as God showed me He is the One who got everything under His control.
Last Thursday, at around 09h00, my wife was admitted in the hospital. A few minutes later, the doctor on duty informed us she is going to assist her as the regular obstetrician/gynaecologist of my wife was not in town but will fly later that day and will come on time for the delivery as she estimated this to happen within the next two to five hours. At that time, the doctor on duty made us believe she got everything under control.
After three hours, my wife started having frequent contractions and the doctor on duty induced the labour. She and the nurse started assisting my wife to push the baby out, but no baby came, no head to be seen...
The doctor on duty decided for an emergency caesarean section as the baby was being severely put under pressure and was feeling some stress.
The problem we did not expect was that the doctor on duty could not perform a caesarean delivery and she started calling her colleagues from other hospitals to come perform a caesarean but no one could be found available nor can arrive immediately at the theatre. As we were signing the legal paperwork for the C-section, I was told that in case of any threat to my wife's health, our baby would be sacrificed.
We spent a long half an hour waiting before we could hear that a specialist has arrived.
Suddenly we received that call and we rushed into the theatre and in less than half an hour our baby was extracted. A nurse explained to me after the baby extraction that a cord wrapped around her neck was the cause of the failure for the normal birth attempt.
