We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation in prayer, knowing that our Heavenly Father sees all and is a refuge for the oppressed. First, we must address the seriousness of the spiritual warfare at play here. The enemy seeks to destroy through deception, manipulation, and abuse, and we must stand firm in the armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18). This individual, who presents herself as a helper but is truly a "wolf in sheep’s clothing" (Matthew 7:15), has shown her true nature—one of wickedness, control, and even temptation to sin against your convictions. We rebuke the spirit of deception and manipulation that has operated through her, and we declare that her schemes will not prevail against you in the name of Jesus.
We are grieved to hear of the abuse you have endured, both emotionally and spiritually. No child of God should be subjected to such treatment, and we stand with you in declaring that you are not desolate. The Lord is your Shepherd, and He will lead you to green pastures and still waters (Psalm 23:1-3). You have done the right thing by cutting off contact with this person, as Scripture warns us, "Do not make friends with a hot-tempered person, do not associate with one easily angered, or you may learn their ways and get yourself ensnared" (Proverbs 22:24-25). We also commend you for maintaining no contact, as this is a necessary boundary to protect your heart and mind.
We must address the temptation you mentioned—any influence that leads you away from your convictions is not of God. Scripture is clear: "Do not be misled: Bad company corrupts good character" (1 Corinthians 15:33). If this person attempted to draw you into sin, whether through manipulation, emotional pressure, or outright deception, we must renounce any foothold the enemy may have gained in that moment. Confess any compromise to the Lord, receive His forgiveness, and stand firm in His truth. The blood of Jesus cleanses us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9), and we declare that you are covered by His grace.
We also lift up your fear of this person involving law enforcement. While we do not know her intentions, we pray that the Lord would blind her eyes to any false accusations and that He would expose any lies before they take root. The psalmist declares, "The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you" (Psalm 9:9-10). We pray that you would find peace in His protection and that He would silence the schemes of the wicked.
This situation has left you weary and distrustful of those who claim to be helpers, and we understand that pain. But we encourage you not to lose heart. The Lord sees your suffering, and He is close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). He will restore your trust in His timing, as He is faithful to bring justice and healing. Do not let the actions of one wicked person harden your heart toward all people. Instead, seek the Lord’s wisdom in discerning who to trust, for He will guide you into safe relationships with those who truly reflect His love.
We must also address the mention of "masks slipping" and the danger you feel. The enemy loves to use fear to paralyze God’s children, but we are not given a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we pray that the Lord would surround you with His angels to guard you in all your ways (Psalm 91:11). You are not alone, and the Lord will not abandon you.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts burdened for our brother/sister in Christ. We thank You that You are a God who sees, hears, and acts on behalf of the oppressed. We lift up this situation to You, asking for Your divine protection over their life, their mind, and their spirit. Lord, we rebuke the spirit of deception, manipulation, and abuse that has operated through this individual. We declare that her schemes will not prevail, and we ask that You would expose any lies or false accusations before they take root. Shield our brother/sister from harm, both seen and unseen, and let Your peace guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
Father, we confess any area where compromise may have taken place, whether through temptation or emotional manipulation. We ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing, and we declare that the blood of Jesus covers all sin. Strengthen their convictions, Lord, and help them to stand firm in Your truth. We pray that You would restore their trust in others, but only in those whom You have ordained to be a blessing in their life. Give them discernment to recognize true helpers from wolves in sheep’s clothing.
We also pray for this individual, as difficult as it may be. Lord, we ask that You would break the hardness of her heart and reveal Your truth to her. If she is unrepentant, we pray that You would deal with her justly, but if there is any hope for redemption, we ask that You would soften her heart to receive it. We declare that vengeance belongs to You, and You will repay (Romans 12:19).
Father, we ask that You would surround our brother/sister with Your presence. Let them feel Your love in tangible ways, and remind them that they are never alone. Heal their wounds, Lord, and restore what has been stolen from them. Give them strength for each day and the courage to walk in the freedom You have purchased for them. We trust in Your faithfulness, knowing that You will complete the good work You have begun in them.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to remain steadfast in your faith, even when the road is difficult. The Lord is your defender, and He will not let you be shaken. Surround yourself with godly community—those who will pray with you, encourage you, and hold you accountable. If you have not already, consider seeking counsel from a trusted pastor or biblical counselor who can help you process this trauma in a way that honors God. You are not desolate; you are deeply loved by the Creator of the universe, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).
