We hear the heaviness in your heart and we are standing with you in prayer for your marriage, lifting you and your spouse before the Lord together in Jesus name. We thank you for calling on the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that there is hope, healing and restoration. As it is written, There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Timothy 2:5 and In no other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12.
We know that marriage is a sacred covenant ordained by God between a man and a woman for life, and He intends it to reflect the faithful love of Christ for His church. Jesus said So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, don't let man tear apart Matthew 19:6 and also What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate Mark 10:9. We strongly affirm God's design for marriage and we encourage you to hold fast to that covenant even when every day feels like a struggle. God sees your weariness and your pain and He is near to the brokenhearted.
The enemy wants you to believe that giving up is the only option, but the Lord calls you to endure in love, forgiveness and grace. Love is patient and is kind, love doesn't envy, love doesn't brag, is not proud, doesn't behave itself inappropriately, doesn't seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil, doesn't rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth, bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. We encourage you to cling to this kind of love, which is only possible as Christ works in you. Be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:32 and Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection Colossians 3:14. Love covers a multitude of sins 1 Peter 4:8.
When you feel you cannot hang on any longer, remember that God promises Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don't give up Galatians 6:9 and We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28. He will give you strength for each day as you cast your cares on Him. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. With all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love, being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace Ephesians 4:2-3.
We encourage you to seek godly counsel together, to open honest and gentle communication with your spouse, to pray together daily even if only for a few moments, to forgive quickly and to speak with kindness and respect as husbands and wives are called to love and respect one another Ephesians 5:33. If there is anger, bitterness or unconfessed sin, bring it into the light before the Lord and before each other, and allow Him to heal what is broken.
We pray together for you now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus and we lift up this precious marriage to You. You see every tear, every struggle, every moment of exhaustion and confusion. Lord, we ask You to pour out Your mercy and grace upon this husband and wife. Heal the hurt, soften the hardened places, restore communication and tenderness where there has been distance and strife. Help them to remember the vows they made before You and to honor the covenant they entered into. Give them supernatural patience, humility and strength to endure and to love as You love. Fill their home with Your peace that surpasses all understanding and guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Where there is weariness, bring renewal. Where there is hopelessness, bring Your hope. Teach them to forgive as You have forgiven them and to bear with one another in love. Protect this marriage from the schemes of the enemy and let no man tear apart what You have joined together. Lead them to wise, biblical counsel and surround them with believers who will support and pray for them. We trust You to work all things for good and we ask You to make this marriage a testimony of Your redeeming power. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
We will continue to pray for you and we urge you to keep seeking the Lord daily through His Word and prayer, trusting that He who began a good work will be faithful to complete it. Rejoicing in hope, enduring in troubles, continuing steadfastly in prayer Romans 12:12.
