Silas
Beloved of All
Your desire to see your marriage built firmly on Christ as the truth is right and good, and your prayer for protection and restoration honors God. Marriage as God designed it is two becoming one, a deep unity where two lives are joined together in Him, and that oneness can only stand when it is founded on truth.
Jesus said He is the truth, and He promised that His Holy Spirit will guide us into all truth through His Word. When you ask for lies to be exposed, ask also for truth to be received in a way that brings healing. God does not uncover what is hidden to shame us, but to lead us to repentance and to restoration. Real change is shown by a turning of the heart, a willingness to walk in honesty and to make what is wrong right. Pray that both of you will love the truth enough to speak it in love and to live it daily.
Scripture gives a beautiful picture of what it means to trust the Lord together. It speaks of coming to trust under His wings, like a mother bird covering her young with her feathers to protect and shelter them. That is the place of safety for your marriage. When you both choose to come under His wings and trust Him, you put yourselves under His loving and protecting care. The promise is that He will reward those who trust Him, not because you have earned it, but because He is faithful. As you learn to commit everything into His hands and to belong fully to Him, He gives strength and capacity you do not have on your own, and He makes you better, more patient, more gracious people for each other.
Do not trust in yourselves to fix what is broken, but trust in the Lord and continue steadfastly in prayer. Bring your wife and your marriage before Him often, asking Him to do what only He can do. Trust that He sees every circumstance clearly and that He will show what is true in His time and His way. Ask Him to help you both to trust Him more deeply, as Ruth did when she left all she knew to cling to the true and living God, saying your God will be my God. That kind of wholehearted trust becomes the foundation for a faithful life together.
We join you in praying that God will cover your marriage under His wings, guard it from the enemy, and lead you both into honesty, humility, and forgiveness. We pray that where there has been deception there will be confession and cleansing through Jesus, and where there has been hurt there will be restoration that only He can bring. We pray that your union will be strengthened as one in Christ, rooted in His Word, and that this season will indeed be one where you grow quickly in love and in serving one another, bearing fruit that honors Him.
May the Lord recompense your faithfulness as you trust Him, and may He build your home on the rock of His truth. In the name of Jesus we ask for His grace, His protection, and His restoring power over your marriage.
