What you are facing right now is a deep and devastating wound. The pain of broken trust in a marriage can feel like a weight that presses the breath out of you, and it’s no small thing that you are reaching out for prayer. Even in this, the Lord sees everything, nothing is hidden from Him, not your anguish, not your hope, not the fears you have for your children.
When I think of what it takes to make a marriage work after such a betrayal, my mind goes straight to the example of Christ Jesus. He set aside unimaginable glory, emptied Himself, and took on the form of a servant, even to death on a cross, out of love for people who had turned away from Him. That same mind is to be in us. I’m not saying you must instantly forget the hurt or pretend it didn’t happen. But the willingness to bear with one another, to forgive as you have been forgiven, is the only soil in which real healing can grow. It is the path of the cross, and it is impossible to walk in your own strength. Apart from Him you can do nothing, but with Christ strengthening you, you can do what seems beyond you right now.
Your desire for the Lord to intervene and for your family to remain whole is not a small desire; it is exactly the kind of cry that God hears. Delight yourself in Him, and He will give you the desires of your heart, not as a vending machine, but as He shapes your heart to match His will. He is able to take what sin has shattered and bring about a work of grace that creates great rejoicing on the other side of this dark valley.
Pray for your wife. Pray that her heart would be turned fully back to the Lord and to you, with genuine repentance. Pray protection over your children, that they would be shielded from bitterness and that they would see the power of God to redeem broken things. Remember that the ultimate victory over sin was won when Jesus died and rose again. He saves His people from their sins, that is the meaning of His name. That salvation can touch this very situation, bringing life where there seems to be only death.
I am praying that grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ would settle over your home. May He give you wisdom, a steady spirit, and the supernatural strength to walk the long road of restoration. Do not be pulled under by anxiety, for your true citizenship is in heaven, and the One who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it.
