Marriage
We hear your heart’s desire for marriage, and we join you in lifting this prayer before the Lord. Marriage is a sacred covenant, instituted by God from the very beginning, as He said, *"Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and they shall be one flesh"* (Genesis 2:24). It is a beautiful reflection of Christ’s love for His church, and we pray that your union would honor Him in every way.
First, we must address the term "significant other" with biblical clarity. The world often uses vague language to describe relationships, but Scripture calls us to intentionality and purity. If you are in a relationship with the goal of marriage, we encourage you to pursue courtship with the purpose of finding a godly spouse—not merely a "partner," but a husband or wife who shares your faith in Jesus Christ. The apostle Paul writes, *"Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14). If your significant other is not a believer, we urge you to prayerfully consider whether this relationship aligns with God’s will.
If you are already in a committed, Christ-centered relationship, we rejoice with you and pray that the Lord would guide you both toward marriage in His perfect timing. However, we must also rebuke any impurity that may exist in your relationship. If you are living together or engaging in sexual intimacy outside of marriage, this is fornication, and it grieves the heart of God. The Bible is clear: *"Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers"* (Hebrews 13:4). We urge you to repent and seek holiness, for the Lord desires purity in His children.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of hope and reverence for Your design for marriage. We lift up this couple to You, asking that You would unite them in holy matrimony if it is Your will. Lord, prepare their hearts, minds, and spirits to enter into this covenant with wisdom, love, and a deep commitment to You. May their marriage be a testimony of Your grace, reflecting the love Christ has for His church.
Father, if there is any unconfessed sin in their relationship—whether it be impurity, selfishness, or disobedience to Your Word—we ask that You convict them and lead them to repentance. Cleanse them, restore them, and fill them with Your Holy Spirit so that their union may be pleasing to You.
Lord, we pray for Your timing to be perfect. If marriage is Your plan for them this year, open the doors and make the path clear. If not, give them the patience and faith to trust in Your sovereign will. May their love for one another grow deeper as they seek You first in all things. Bless their future home with joy, peace, and longevity, and may they raise up godly children who will serve You all the days of their lives.
