We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation in prayer, seeking His divine intervention and restoration. Marriage is a sacred covenant, established by God Himself, and it is our duty to uphold and defend it according to His Word. We read in Genesis 2:24, "Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh." This union is not to be broken by the interference of others, and we stand firm on the truth that what God has joined together, no man should separate (Matthew 19:6).
Father God, we first ask for Your forgiveness if there has been any sin in this marriage—whether it be unfaithfulness, neglect, bitterness, or unforgiveness. We rebuke the spirit of division and the third party who has come between this husband and wife. We declare in the name of Jesus that no outside influence will destroy what You have ordained. We pray that any ungodly soul ties or emotional attachments formed outside of this marriage be broken right now by the power of the Holy Spirit. We command every spirit of lust, temptation, and deception to flee, for it is written, "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7).
Lord, we pray for this wife, that You would strengthen her faith and resolve to fight for her marriage. Give her the courage to stand firm in love, patience, and forgiveness, even when it is difficult. Remind her of the vows she made before You and help her to extend grace as You have extended grace to her. We pray for this husband, that You would convict his heart if he has strayed and draw him back to his wife and to You. Soften his heart, Lord, and let him see the value of the covenant he entered into. If there has been sin, lead him to true repentance and restoration.
We also pray for the third party involved. If they are unaware of the destruction they are causing, open their eyes to the truth. If they are acting out of malice or selfishness, bring conviction and lead them to repentance. Your Word says, "Do not be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap" (Galatians 6:7). We ask that You would remove this person from the situation entirely, that they would have no further influence or access to this marriage.
Heavenly Father, we ask that You would heal any wounds in this marriage. Restore trust, intimacy, and communication. Let Your love be the foundation that rebuilds what has been broken. We declare that this marriage will not only survive but thrive, becoming a testimony of Your redeeming power. May this couple grow closer to You and to each other, reflecting Christ’s love for the Church.
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can come before You. It is only through His sacrifice that we have access to Your throne of grace, and it is only by His blood that we are made whole. If either of them does not know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, we pray that today would be the day of their salvation. For "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9). We trust in Your perfect will and timing, Lord, and we thank You for Your faithfulness to answer prayer. Amen.
