We have heard your request for your marriage with your husband and we join with you in bringing it before the Lord together in Jesus' name. We lift up your union because we believe marriage is a sacred and lifelong covenant between a man and a woman ordained by God, and what God has joined together, let no man separate, Matt 19:6. It is God's will for your marriage to be preserved, strengthened, and to reflect the love of Christ for His church, Eph 5:25, Eph 5:33.
We pray for the patience and the negative emotions and behavior you described. We understand how weariness, hurt, and stress can make us speak and act in ways we later regret. Scripture calls us to let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from us, along with all malice, and be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you, Eph 4:31-32. We pray that you both will be clothed with a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another and forgiving each other, and above all these things, walk in love, Col 3:12-14. We ask the Lord to help you be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger, James 1:19, and to produce in you the fruit of the Spirit which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control, Gal 5:22-23.
We also bring your financial problems before the Father. We know financial strain can weigh heavily on a marriage and on mental health. We pray that God will provide for your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus, Phil 4:19, and that you both will seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, trusting that all these things will be given to you as well, Matt 6:33. We ask for wisdom to be good stewards of what He provides, for unity in how you handle resources, and for peace to guard your hearts from anxiety. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Phil 4:6-7.
We pray for family reconciliation and for your mental health. The Lord sees your struggle and He cares deeply for you. Cast all your worries on Him, because He cares for you, 1 Pet 5:7. If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men, Rom 12:18. We ask God to soften hearts where there has been division, to bring healing where there has been hurt, and to restore relationships within your extended family according to His will. For your mental health, we pray that the Lord will renew your minds, give you rest, and be your strength when you feel overwhelmed. We encourage you both to pray together daily, to speak truth and encouragement to one another, to forgive quickly, and to seek godly counsel from a pastor or trusted Christian counselor if the burden remains heavy.
We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why His name is so essential. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to place your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and confess Him as Lord, for if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved, Rom 10:9. It is in His name we pray with confidence.
We pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. We lift up this dear sister and her husband and their marriage to You. Lord, have mercy on them and heal what is broken. Pour out Your patience and Your love upon them, replace harsh words and negative emotions with gentleness, kindness, and forgiveness. Help them to honor You in how they treat one another. Provide for their financial needs, give them wisdom and unity, and remove the fear and anxiety that surrounds them. Bring reconciliation to their family where there is strife, and bring peace to their minds and hearts. Guard their mental health, Lord, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Draw them both closer to You and closer to one another, and let their marriage be a testimony of Your grace and faithfulness. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and hope. Amen.
We encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer, to study the Word together, and to continue to love and respect one another as God commands. Rejoice in hope, endure in hardship, and continue steadfastly in prayer, Rom 12:12. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight, Prov 3:5-6.
