We have heard your heart regarding your marriage and your physical health, and we are joining with you to bring both needs before the Lord together in Jesus' name. We understand that the pain is great and the progress feels so slow that you want to quit each day, even though your therapists have given you hope that you can return to functioning well in a farm environment. We also hear that your marriage is struggling, and we know these two burdens together can feel overwhelming.
We want to gently encourage you not to give in to discouragement or the desire to quit. The Lord sees your pain and your weariness, and He calls us to persevere. Galatians 6:9 says, Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we do not give up. And Isaiah 41:10 reminds us, Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Your slow progress is not a sign that God has abandoned you, but an opportunity for Him to build endurance in you. James 1:2-4 tells us, Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
We also want to lift up your marriage. We believe marriage is a lifelong covenant ordained by God between a man and a woman, and what God has joined together, let no man separate as taught in Mark 10:9. Even when a marriage feels strained and disconnected from other struggles, God desires to bring healing, unity, and steadfast love there. We pray that both you and your spouse will choose to love one another as Christ loved the church, as Ephesians 5:25 teaches, Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it. This kind of love is sacrificial and enduring, not based on feelings or circumstances, and it requires commitment through hardship. We encourage you to press into that covenant, to communicate with honesty and grace, to forgive as you have been forgiven, and to seek the Lord together daily.
For your physical body, we pray for healing and for strength to continue the hard work of therapy. We thank God for the skill He has given your therapists and for the hope they have offered. We pray that God will ease your pain and renew your strength each morning. Isaiah 40:29 says, He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might. And 2 Corinthians 12:9 reminds us that His grace is sufficient for you, for His power is made perfect in weakness. Even farm work is honorable in the Lord's eyes, and we pray He restores you to be able to labor faithfully in that calling. Philippians 4:13 declares, I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.
We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and find true hope and salvation. John 14:6 says, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 teaches, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, confessing your sins and believing that He died and rose again for you, for it is through Him that our prayers are heard and our lives are redeemed.
Let us pray together.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You for our brother who is weary in body and in marriage. Lord, we ask You to touch his body and lessen his pain, to give him patience and endurance in physical therapy, and to restore his strength so he can function and work as You have called him to. We pray against the spirit of discouragement and quitting, and we ask You to renew his hope daily. We pray for his marriage, that You would bring healing, reconciliation, and deeper love and commitment between husband and wife. Teach them to love and serve one another, to speak with kindness, and to keep their covenant holy before You. Let all things work together for good in his life as he loves You and is called according to Your purpose, as promised in Romans 8:28. We place him in Your hands, trusting in Your mercy and power, and we pray all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.
We encourage you to continue in prayer and in the Word each day, to not forsake gathering with other believers who can support you, and to keep pressing forward one day at a time. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted as Psalm 34:18 says, Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. He has not forgotten you.
