Marriage After God's Heart

My wife ### be healed in every way, that we both walk in the will and power of God and the Joy of the Lord. That the power and access of the enemy be permanently broken over our lives in Jesus’ name, by His Blood, which speaks a better word. That God soften and turn her heart back to Him and me and she return from the other man, restore us in covenant marriage for God’s glory and our good and we be a shining example of Christ centered loving marriage. Abundant provision, wisdom, discernment and clarity. Power in prayer, and we together break chains, relieve oppression, open the eyes of the blind, heal, help, comfort and be conduits of blessing and the love of God and a terror to the enemy.

We stand with you in fervent prayer, lifting up your marriage before the throne of grace. The pain and betrayal you are experiencing are deeply felt, but we know that God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Your cry for restoration, healing, and the breaking of the enemy’s power over your lives is heard by the Lord, who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).

First, we must address the grievous sin of adultery that has entered your marriage. Scripture is clear: "You shall not commit adultery" (Exodus 20:14), and Jesus Himself said, "Whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery" (Matthew 19:9). The other man involved is also participating in this sin, and we must pray that God’s conviction would fall upon him and that he would repent and turn away from this wickedness. Adultery is a violation of the covenant you made before God, but we serve a God who specializes in redemption and restoration. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool" (Isaiah 1:18). We pray that your wife would be convicted by the Holy Spirit, turn from this sin, and return to the marriage covenant she made with you and with God.

We also rebuke the enemy’s lies and deceptions that have led her astray. The devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We stand on the authority of Jesus’ name and the power of His blood, which speaks a better word than the blood of Abel (Hebrews 12:24). The blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:7), and we declare that the enemy has no legal right to your marriage or your lives. We break every chain of deception, lust, and ungodly soul ties in Jesus’ name. "No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that accuses you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord" (Isaiah 54:17).

We pray for your wife’s heart to be softened and turned back to the Lord. "Create in her a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within her" (Psalm 51:10). May she remember the vows she made before God and the love that once united you both. We ask that God would remove the scales from her eyes and help her see the destruction this path is leading her toward. "The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth" (Psalm 145:18). May she experience the conviction of the Holy Spirit and choose repentance and restoration.

For your marriage to be restored, we pray that God would rebuild the foundation on Christ. "Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain" (Psalm 127:1). May your marriage become a shining example of a Christ-centered union, where love, forgiveness, and grace abound. We pray that God would grant you both wisdom, discernment, and clarity as you navigate this difficult season. "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him" (James 1:5). May you both be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit, enabling you to walk in love, patience, and self-control.

We also pray for abundant provision over your lives. The Lord is your shepherd, and you shall not want (Psalm 23:1). May He open the windows of heaven and pour out blessings that you cannot contain (Malachi 3:10). We pray for financial breakthrough, emotional healing, and spiritual renewal. May you both become mighty in prayer, interceding for one another and for those around you. "The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective" (James 5:16). May your home be a place of refuge, healing, and blessing to others, and may the enemy tremble at the power of God displayed in your lives.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this marriage before Your throne. Lord, we know that You hate divorce (Malachi 2:16) and that You desire for marriages to reflect the love and unity of Christ and the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). We ask that You would intervene in this situation and bring restoration to this marriage. Father, we pray for this wife, that You would soften her heart and turn it back to You and to her husband. Break the chains of deception and lust that have bound her, and let her see the truth of Your Word. Convict her of her sin, Lord, and lead her to repentance. We rebuke the enemy’s influence over her life and declare that he has no power here. In the name of Jesus and by the power of His blood, we break every ungodly soul tie and every lie that has taken root in her heart.

Lord, we also pray for this husband, that You would strengthen him in this trial. Give him the grace to forgive as You have forgiven him (Colossians 3:13). Help him to love his wife as Christ loves the Church, even in this difficult season. Fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and grant him wisdom and discernment as he navigates this situation. May he be a man of prayer, standing in the gap for his wife and his marriage.

Father, we ask that You would restore this marriage for Your glory. Rebuild what has been broken, heal what has been wounded, and renew the love that once united this couple. May their marriage become a testimony of Your grace and power, a shining example of what it means to walk in covenant with You and with one another. Provide for all their needs, Lord, and fill their home with Your presence. May they become conduits of Your love, healing, and blessing to those around them. Let the enemy tremble at the power of God displayed in their lives.

We declare that this marriage is covered by the blood of Jesus and that no weapon formed against it shall prosper. We break every chain of oppression, deception, and sin in Jesus’ name. May this couple walk in the fullness of Your will, experiencing the joy of the Lord and the power of Your Spirit. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Amen.

We encourage you to stand firm in faith, trusting that God is at work even when you cannot see it. Continue to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17) and seek godly counsel from your pastor or a trusted Christian mentor. Remember that God is able to do far more than we can ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20), and His plans for your marriage are for good and not for harm (Jeremiah 29:11). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). May the Lord bless you and keep you; may He make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; may He lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace (Numbers 6:24-26).

We’ve been holding your request before the Lord, and we hear the weight in it, the longing for your wife’s healing, for the enemy’s power to be broken, for your marriage to be fully restored. Those aren’t small prayers, and it takes real courage to keep lifting them. We’re standing with you in that hope, not because we know how God will write the next chapter, but because He is the healer of broken hearts and the one who can turn what feels impossible around.

As you pray and wait, we’d gently encourage you not to walk this road alone. When a marriage has been wounded by infidelity, the path back is often tangled with deep pain, trust that needs rebuilding, and questions that feel unanswerable. A wise pastor or a Christian counselor experienced in infidelity recovery can offer a steady, safe place, for you individually, and for both of you together when she is open. That support isn’t a sign of weak faith; it’s using the help God provides.

Above all, keep bringing this mess to the foot of the cross. You’ve been asking God to soften her heart and turn her back to Him and to you; that’s a prayer that pleases Him. So we join you now.

Father, we lift up this husband and wife to You. Heal her in every way, body, heart, and spirit. Break whatever the enemy is doing to keep her entangled, and draw her powerfully back to Jesus and back to her marriage. Give this man wisdom, clarity, and the quiet strength to trust You while he waits. Restore what’s been broken, provide for them, and when You bring them back together, make their home a place of joy and a witness to Your redeeming grace. We ask this in Jesus’ name.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

It is a sore trial when the marriage covenant is rent asunder, yet the power of the Lord is present to heal. The balm of His Atonement has lost none of its virtue, and He delights to bind up broken hearts and restore that which was shattered. Look to Jesus, who heals all manner of diseases, the leprosy of sin, the palsy of wandering affections, the fever of unlawful desire. His Word, even a broken text from His lips, carries healing for the nations; how much more His full salvation for a home torn by the enemy’s wiles.

Consider the prodigal, who wasted his substance in the far country. When he returned, the father saw him a great way off, ran, fell on his neck, and kissed him much. Those kisses meant much love, much forgiveness, full restoration. So it may be with your wife. Pray with tears, but also with faith, for the Father’s exceeding joy is to welcome the wanderer. He does not merely calm the broken bones, He makes them rejoice. He will not despise a broken and contrite heart, nor will He turn away a husband who humbles himself greatly and pleads the blood of Jesus, which speaks better things than that of Abel.

Yet remember, there is no healing without teaching. When Christ taught, the power of the Lord was present to heal. Let your life preach the gospel to her, not with bitter reproaches, but with a holy walk that shows the beauty of the Lord. The enemy would have you fix your eye upon the broken column of her resolve, but rather fix your gaze upon the unbroken Covenant. God is ever mindful of His Covenant, a Covenant ordered in all things and sure. He can make her willing in the day of His power, turn her heart as rivers of water, and put a new spirit within her. Only submit to His righteousness; cast away all self-reliance, for the broken fence of human effort cannot keep the vineyard. It must be the Lord’s doing.

Persevere in prayer, for it shakes the gates of hell. The power of the enemy must bow to the risen Christ, whose leaves are for the healing of the nations. Though the stone wall be broken down, the Lord can rebuild it. Though the bones be crushed, He can make them leap for joy. He can restore the years the locust hath eaten and make your marriage a shining example of His grace, not because you are worthy, but because He is faithful. So take courage; the healing power is present. It is not far for you to reach, for it is found in the very name of Jesus, our Emmanuel, God with us.

The pain of a marriage torn apart by adultery is a wound that reaches to heaven, for it is not merely a spouse who is wronged, but God Himself. You pray for her healing and her return, and this is right, but understand that healing cannot bypass repentance. She has given herself to another man and broken the covenant, and unless she turns from this sin with a contrite heart, no true restoration can occur. The gospel does not permit us to bless a union born of adultery; it calls the sinner to forsake the sin and return to the marriage bond.

Do not be troubled, though trials swarm like a flood; nothing shakes the promises of Christ. Pray for her with fasting and tears, that the Lord would soften her heart and open her eyes to the gravity of her offense. Let your own life be a teacher of the truth you profess, walking in the holiness and love you desire for her. For if she claims faith yet persists in this transgression, she heaps greater judgment upon herself, dishonoring the name she bears. Seek wisdom and clarity, not to excuse the wrong, but to stand firm in godliness while pleading for her soul.

If she returns, cast out by sin and seeking refuge, forgiveness can restore what has been ruined. But if she refuses and demands you compromise with ungodliness, remember that a brother is not bound in such cases; better to preserve your life in Christ than to join in her fall. Let your prayers be a weapon against the enemy, not by many words, but by a life surrendered to God. Anchor your joy in the Lord alone, not in any earthly outcome. For a marriage is sanctified only when both walk in the Lord, and your first call is to be a shining example of His transforming love, whether she returns or not.
