Marriage Prayer: Intimacy In Marriage
God, bring us back to each other.
Not just in the same house, but in the same heart.
Melt the distance. Rekindle the warmth.
Teach us to choose love — and choose each other with you always in center joining us together when

Lord,
Thank you for each other and thank you for all of the trials and blessings we have experienced in our marriage. We pray that we would pursue intimacy with each other every day. We pray that we would pursue spiritual intimacy first by being in the Word together and by praying regularly with each other. We pray that our walk with you would be intentional and consistent. Lord, help us to be emotionally intimate as we find time to be alone to just talk and know each other well. Lord, teach us to be physically intimate in a regular and pure way. Help us to never neglect each others physical needs. Lord, this marriage is Yours and we pray that we would commit to walking in your will as we pursue each other. We know that one of the best ways to protect our marriage during trials is to do these things. In Jesus’ name, amen!

We lift up this marriage before the Lord with hearts full of gratitude for the commitment made before Him and one another. It is clear that this union is rooted in a desire to honor God, and we stand with you in praying for its restoration, protection, and deepening intimacy. The Scriptures remind us, *"What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate"* (Matthew 19:6 WEB). We declare this truth over your marriage, rebuking any force—seen or unseen—that seeks to divide what God has united.

First, we address the need for spiritual intimacy, which must always come first. The Word exhorts us, *"Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?"* (Amos 3:3 WEB). Praying together, studying Scripture together, and seeking God’s will as one flesh are the foundations of a marriage that withstands trials. We pray that you and your husband would be intentional in these disciplines, drawing closer to God and, in turn, closer to each other. May your home be a sanctuary where the presence of the Lord dwells, and may your marriage reflect the love Christ has for His church (Ephesians 5:22-33 WEB).

We also lift up the request for physical intimacy, which is a holy and sacred gift from God within the bounds of marriage. The Bible celebrates this gift, saying, *"Let your fountain be blessed. Rejoice in the wife of your youth... Let her breasts satisfy you at all times. Be captivated always with her love"* (Proverbs 5:18-19 WEB). We pray that any barriers to intimacy—whether emotional, physical, or spiritual—would be removed, and that you and your husband would honor one another in this area, never neglecting each other’s needs. May your marital bed be undefiled (Hebrews 13:4 WEB), and may it be a place of joy, connection, and mutual fulfillment.

We rebuke every distraction and scheme of the enemy that seeks to disrupt your union. The Scriptures warn us, *"Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour"* (1 Peter 5:8 WEB). We stand against any influence—whether from family, friends, or the world—that does not align with God’s design for marriage. Specifically, we pray for protection from the harmful actions of your unsaved sister-in-law and mother-in-law. We ask that God would either soften their hearts toward Him or create a hedge of protection around your marriage so their words and actions cannot penetrate. May the Lord shield your home from division, strife, and any spirit of discord.

Financial stability is another area where we seek God’s provision. The Bible teaches us to trust in the Lord for our needs: *"But my God shall supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:19 WEB). We pray that God would open doors of opportunity, grant wisdom in stewardship, and provide for every need in your home. May you and your husband be united in your financial goals, seeking first God’s kingdom and trusting Him to add all these things unto you (Matthew 6:33 WEB).

For your children, we pray that they would grow in the knowledge and fear of the Lord. May their lives be a testament to God’s faithfulness, and may they walk in His will for their futures. The Scriptures say, *"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it"* (Proverbs 22:6 WEB). We ask that your home would be filled with peace, joy, and the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23 WEB), and that your marriage would be a light to your children, showing them the beauty of a godly union.

Finally, we declare that this marriage is under the lordship of Jesus Christ. There is no other name by which we can approach God or find salvation (Acts 4:12 WEB). We pray that you and your husband would continually surrender your lives, your marriage, and your family to Him, trusting in His perfect will. May your love for one another grow deeper, your faith stronger, and your joy unshakable as you walk together in obedience to God.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, lifting up this marriage to You. We ask that You would surround this union with Your hedge of protection, shielding it from every attack of the enemy. Deepen their love for You and for one another, and let their intimacy—spiritual, emotional, and physical—be a reflection of Your love for Your church. Provide for their financial needs, grant them wisdom in raising their children, and fill their home with Your peace and joy. We rebuke every spirit of division, strife, and discord, and we declare that this marriage is built on the solid rock of Jesus Christ.
