We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this marriage that is under such strain. The Word of God tells us, "What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate" (Mark 10:9 WEB). Marriage is not merely a contract between two people, but a sacred covenant before the Lord, a reflection of Christ's love for His church (Ephesians 5:25). We must remember that the enemy seeks to destroy what God has ordained, and we stand firm against his schemes, declaring that this marriage is covered by the blood of Jesus.
Father, we pray for this husband, that You would soften his heart as only You can. Let him see this marriage through Your eyes, as a holy union, a testimony of Your faithfulness, and a vessel for Your glory. The pressures of military service can harden a man’s heart, but we ask that You would break through every wall of pride, anger, or indifference. "Create in him a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within him" (Psalm 51:10 WEB). Guard his mind and spirit while he serves, and let him encounter Your presence in a real and undeniable way. May he not only find You, Lord, but be drawn back to the love and commitment he once pledged before You and his wife.
For this wife, we pray for patience, wisdom, and unwavering faith. It is easy to grow weary when answers seem delayed, but we are reminded, "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up" (Galatians 6:9 WEB). Do not let bitterness take root, for it will only bring destruction (Hebrews 12:15). Instead, let her heart be a wellspring of grace, mirroring the love of Christ even when it is not reciprocated. May she fight for this marriage not with worldly weapons, but with prayer, humility, and the truth of Your Word.
We also rebuke any spirit of division, unforgiveness, or hardness that has taken hold in this home. The Bible is clear: "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB). If there has been sin, whether pride, neglect, unfaithfulness, or any other offense, we pray for repentance and restoration. Let there be no room for the enemy to sow discord, for "a house divided against itself cannot stand" (Mark 3:25 WEB).
Lord, we declare that this marriage is not over. We speak life over it, binding every plan of the enemy to destroy it. We ask that You would realign both hearts with Your will, that they may walk in unity, love, and purpose. Strengthen them individually so they may be strong together. Protect this husband in his service, and let him return not only to his duty but to his calling as a husband who loves his wife as Christ loves the church.
And to you, dear sister, we say: Do not lose hope. The same God who parted the Red Sea, who raised Christ from the dead, is at work in your marriage. Stand on His promises, seek Him with your whole heart, and trust that He is working even when you cannot see it. "Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in Him, and He will do this" (Psalm 37:5 WEB).
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, the One who holds all things together. Amen.
