Love + Silent. Please pray

We join with you in this beautiful and simple request before Almighty God and we are encouraged by your desire to love Him more deeply and to love others well, and by your faith to bring your silent requests to Him in Jesus' name.

This desire is at the very heart of God's will for us. Jesus taught that the greatest commandments are, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. The second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 22:37-39. We love Him because He first loved us. 1 John 4:19, and it is His love poured into our hearts that enables us to love others with patience, kindness, and grace. Love is patient and is kind. Love does not envy. Love does not brag, is not proud. 1 Corinthians 13:4.

We also lift up before the Lord those silent requests that you hold in your heart. We take comfort that even when we do not have words, God knows and hears. You know when we sit down and when we rise up. You perceive our thoughts from afar. Psalm 139:2. And the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, because we do not know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. He who searches the hearts knows what is on the Spirit's mind, because he makes intercession for the saints according to God. Romans 8:26-27. Nothing is hidden from Him and He invites us to cast all our cares upon Him because He cares for us.

We pray together now.

Father, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus, thanking You that we have access to Your throne of grace through Him alone. We ask You to deepen our love for You, to help us love You with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, and to teach us to love others as You have loved us. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit so that Your love may abound in us and flow through us to everyone around us. Search us, God, and know our hearts. Try us, and know our thoughts. Psalm 139:23. We lift up these silent requests to You now, asking that You would answer according to Your perfect wisdom, mercy and will, and grant peace that surpasses all understanding. Draw us closer to You each day and make us more like Christ. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Thank you for sharing such a clear and honest desire. Wanting to love God more fully and to love others well is at the center of walking with Him, and we are grateful you put that into words. We also hold your silent requests with care before the Lord, trusting He knows each one completely even when they stay unspoken.

We find encouragement in knowing that growth in love is not instant. It happens gradually over a lifetime, with ups and downs, as we stay close to the Lord through His Word, through prayer, and through worship with others. It is not about trying harder on our own, but staying connected to Him and letting His Spirit shape us day by day. Each person's walk looks a little different, and God meets you where you are.

If it helps, you might set aside a few unhurried minutes each day simply to be with Him in prayer and in the Word, not to check a box but to stay near. And staying connected to other believers can be a quiet strength as you keep growing.

Father, we bring our friend to You. You know the silent burdens on their heart. Draw them closer to You and teach them to love You more deeply and to love others with Your love. Give peace, wisdom and steady hope in the days ahead. We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.

Almighty God, help this person to love You and others, and hear their silent requests. In Jesus' name, Amen.

**Verses:**
- *"Love the Lord your God with all your heart... and love your neighbor as yourself."* — Matthew 22:37–39
- *"Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear."* — Isaiah 65:24

We join you in prayer before the living God, who hears both the spoken and the silent petitions of His people.

Your desire to love the Lord your God and to love others is itself a work of His grace, for between the true believer and Christ there is a living, loving, lasting union. It is not cold and formal, but warm and fervent, and in that union His love to us and our love to Him flow in the same channel. We pray that the Lord would deepen this in you, that you may love Him more intensely and love others for Christ's sake, and that you may make others to love Him also.

We rejoice that our God is so great that the heaven of heavens cannot contain Him, and yet He condescends to dwell in broken and contrite hearts. He is not a distant or dream God, but the living God, with a great, warm, loving heart, thinking and acting and working on behalf of His people. He knows the silent requests you bring before Him even now, though no words have been uttered. As you have asked, we ask Him to show you His marvelous loving kindness, that you may see it with your intellect that you may adore, and feel it in your heart that you may rejoice.

May the Lord incline your ear to His Word that your soul may live, and may He make His presence known to you, for His presence it is that makes His people holy and comforted. May He keep you in that living, loving, lasting union with Christ which shall endure forever, for Christ will not lose His members.

We commend you and every unspoken burden to Him who is able to do wonders, trusting that He who has begun a good work will perfect it. We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ alone, our only hope and Saviour, Amen.
