We lift this beautiful prayer from Philippians 1:9-11 before the throne of grace, asking the Lord to make it a living reality in our lives and in the lives of all who seek Him. Father, we come before You, recognizing that it is only through the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, that we have access to You. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We thank You for the gift of salvation through faith in Jesus, who died for our sins and rose again, that we might have eternal life (John 3:16).
Lord, we pray that our love would indeed abound more and more in real knowledge and all discernment. Teach us to love not just with words or emotions, but with wisdom and understanding, so that we may approve the things that are excellent. Help us to walk in a manner worthy of the calling we have received (Ephesians 4:1), discerning what is pleasing to You in every situation. May our love be rooted in truth, not swayed by the deceptions of this world, but anchored in Your Word.
We ask that You would make us sincere and blameless until the day of Christ. Purify our hearts, Lord, and search us, knowing our thoughts and anxieties (Psalm 139:23). Where there is sin, whether in our relationships, our thoughts, or our actions, convict us by Your Holy Spirit. If we are engaged in relationships that do not honor You, such as those involving fornication, adultery, or same-sex unions, we ask for Your forgiveness and strength to turn away from these sins. Your Word is clear: marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, a reflection of Christ and the Church (Ephesians 5:31-32). Any sexual intimacy outside of this God-ordained union is sin, and we must flee from it (1 Corinthians 6:18). If we are courting someone, let it be with the intention of marriage to a fellow believer, as You command us not to be unequally yoked (2 Corinthians 6:14). Guide us in holiness, that we may present ourselves as vessels for honorable use, set apart and useful to You (2 Timothy 2:21).
Fill us with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God. May our lives bear the fruit of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). Let every thought, word, and deed be done for Your glory, that others may see our good works and give praise to our Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16).
Lord, we also pray for those who may be struggling with doubt, fear, or uncertainty in their walk with You. Strengthen their faith, reminding them that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6). For those who have not yet surrendered their lives to Jesus, we pray that today would be the day of salvation. Open their hearts to receive the truth of the Gospel, that Christ died for their sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). May they confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that God raised Him from the dead, so that they may be saved (Romans 10:9).
We rebuke every lie of the enemy that seeks to distort Your truth, Lord. We stand against the deception that love can be separated from Your commands, or that holiness is optional. Your Word tells us that without holiness, no one will see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14). We reject the world’s definition of love, which often exalts selfish desires above Your perfect will. Instead, we choose to love as You have loved us, sacrificially, purely, and in truth (1 John 3:16).
Father, we thank You for the promise that as we abide in You, we will bear much fruit (John 15:5). Let this fruit be evident in our lives, not for our own glory, but for Yours. May our love, knowledge, and discernment grow deeper each day, that we may walk blamelessly until the day of Christ. Fill us with Your Spirit, that we may live in a way that brings You honor and draws others to You.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
