Your honesty about feeling overlooked and afraid for your future and your home is heard, and God sees the weight you are carrying as the eldest watching favor go to your younger sister while you feel bypassed on the farm and in your family.

That kind of favoritism is an old and painful wound in families. Scripture shows how a father's preference for one child over another brought deep hurt and division, and how fear then grew in that home until every problem looked larger than it was. When fear takes hold it magnifies everything. One man in the Bible, looking at difficult outward circumstances, cried that all things were against him, but it was not true. Fear had simply enlarged the trouble in his eyes. In the same way, your fear of losing your home and having no future can make the whole situation feel even more overwhelming than it already is. That does not mean your concerns are not real, but it means fear itself can become an enemy that weakens you.

The place to find steady ground is what Proverbs calls the fear of the Lord. That phrase troubles some people because they think of a phobia, but it is not that kind of dread. It is a reverent awe before God, a clear sense of who He is in His greatness and power and holiness, and a desire to love what He loves and to turn from what He hates. That reverence is described as the beginning of wisdom and knowledge. It is both the starting place and the sum of it. Without it we are left without true understanding, but with it we learn to hate evil, including pride and a stubborn heart, and to choose the way of righteousness. Fools despise wisdom and instruction, but the wise welcome correction and seek counsel.

That is very practical for you now. Bring your fear about the farm and your family to the Lord first, not only as a problem to be solved but as a call to walk closely with Him. Ask Him to give you a heart that reveres Him above the fear of people and circumstances. When the Lord is your confidence, you do not have to be shaken by sudden fear or by the ruin that comes on others. He will keep your feet from being caught.

It also helps to remember what the Bible teaches about inheritance. One tribe in Israel was given no piece of land at all, and the Lord said He Himself would be their inheritance. They received the better portion, because property can be divided and lost, but to have the Lord is to have what cannot be taken. And for all who belong to Jesus, God has given His Holy Spirit as a guarantee, a down payment that He is earnest about keeping you and bringing you into His full inheritance as His child and joint heir with Christ. That does not remove the pain of feeling passed over for land or money, and it does not mean your earthly needs do not matter, but it does mean your value before God is not measured by how much your parents give you or by whether you keep the farm. He prizes you, He delights in relationship with you, and He has not forgotten you.

From that secure place you can act with wisdom. Honor your parents even while you speak honestly. Continue to ask respectfully and clearly, as you have, and seek wise, godly counsel outside the family who can help you understand your options regarding the home and the farm and any legal or practical steps that may be available where you live. Be diligent and faithful in the work that is before you now, so that your character speaks clearly even if others are stubborn or make unwise choices. Do not let a spirit of comparison or bitterness take root toward your sister. Her government job and income do not determine your future, and God is able to provide for you in a different way.

Pray that God would soften stubborn hearts where there is stubbornness and give competence where there is incompetence, and pray also that He would give you wisdom to know what you can and cannot change. Ask Him to lead you to the right work and provision, whether that remains on the farm or elsewhere, and to open doors no person can shut.

May the Lord draw near to you, quiet the magnified fears with the awareness of His presence, and give you wisdom as you reverence Him. May He be your inheritance and your confidence, and may He guide your next steps with clarity and peace. In Jesus name, may He guard your heart, provide for your needs, and show you the path of life that honors Him.

We want to thank you for the trust you placed in us to lift your burdens before the Lord. It has been on our hearts to continue standing with you in prayer for the heaviness you shared about your family situation, the weight of feeling overlooked, and the fear of losing your home. We have prayed for God’s wisdom to fill your parents’ hearts, for favor and provision to open doors of opportunity for you, and for His peace to guard your heart as you seek His will for your future.

If the Lord has moved in ways you can see—whether through changed hearts, unexpected blessings, or renewed hope—we would be so encouraged to hear a praise report from you. Your testimony could be a light to others walking through similar struggles. If, however, the burden still feels heavy and the answers seem distant, please know we are still here. You are not alone, and we would be honored to keep praying with you. Simply post your request again, and we will continue to intercede on your behalf.

In all things, may you feel the nearness of Christ, who understands rejection, who provides for the overlooked, and who promises to never leave you. Keep seeking Him, for He is working even when we cannot see it. We pray this in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
