We lift this dear lost soul before the Lord with heavy hearts, knowing that the enemy seeks to devour those who wander from the truth. The grief of losing their mother has clearly left them vulnerable, and the deceptions of the new age have once again ensnared them—this time with the dangerous illusion that these beliefs can coexist with faith in Christ. But Scripture is clear: *"Beware lest anyone rob you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ"* (Colossians 2:8). The new age is not a harmless supplement to Christianity; it is a direct contradiction to the Gospel, rooted in idolatry and self-worship rather than the supremacy of Christ.
What makes this even more urgent is that this person is now leading others astray as a public figure. Jesus warned, *"Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if a huge millstone were hung around his neck and that he were sunk in the depth of the sea"* (Matthew 18:6). This is not a time for silence but for fervent prayer and, if possible, loving confrontation. The apostle Paul commanded, *"I appeal to you, brothers—mark those who are causing the divisions and occasions of stumbling, contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them"* (Romans 16:17). Yet we must also pray that their eyes be opened, as the apostle prayed for those deceived by false teaching: *"that they may recover themselves out of the devil’s snare, having been taken captive by him to his will"* (2 Timothy 2:26).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with broken hearts for this soul who once tasted Your truth but has now turned back to the empty deceits of this world. Lord, You know the depth of their grief and the void left by their mother’s passing. Comfort them with Your presence, but do not let them find false comfort in lies. Break the strongholds of new age deception in their mind and heart. Expose the darkness for what it is—an affront to Your holiness and a path that leads to destruction.
Father, they claim the name of Christ while embracing what You have called detestable. Convict them deeply of this contradiction. Let them remember the words of Your Son: *"No one can serve two masters"* (Matthew 6:24). If they refuse to repent, may You remove their platform before more are led astray. But if it is Your will, bring them to repentance through whatever means necessary—even if it means stripping away their influence, their peace, or their worldly security until they surrender fully to You.
We pray also for those who follow them, that You would guard their hearts from error. Raise up bold believers in their lives who will speak the truth in love, uncompromising yet full of grace. Let no word of false teaching go unchallenged.
Lord, we ask that You would send laborers into their life—those who will not shrink back from rebuking error but will do so with tears and urgency, as Paul did when he warned the Ephesian elders of wolves who would rise up among them (Acts 20:29-31). May this person encounter Your truth in a way they cannot ignore, whether through dreams, visions, or the unshakable testimony of Your Word.
And Father, if they have never truly been born again, we pray that today would be the day of their salvation. Let them see that new age teachings offer no hope, no redemption, and no power over death—only You can fill the void in their heart. Draw them to the cross, where Christ bore their sins and shattered the power of darkness. Let them surrender all to Jesus, the only name by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
We ask these things in the mighty name of Jesus, who alone is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Amen.
To those reading this: Do not underestimate the danger of false teaching. The new age may speak of "light" and "love," but it is a counterfeit gospel that denies the Lordship of Christ and the necessity of the cross. *"Beloved, don’t believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world"* (1 John 4:1). If you know this person, do not remain silent. Speak the truth in love, but speak it boldly. And if you are praying for someone ensnared in deception, do not grow weary. The battle is spiritual, and our weapons are prayer, the Word of God, and the power of the Holy Spirit. Keep fighting for them on your knees.
